will be replacing with stock piston for my XR400

so i guess i need to hone?

Probably worth it ... depends on the condition of the barrel surface I'd say ... nice reflective sort of look and yep, a good hone would no doubt be in order. Might be worth measuring the bore to see how far off standard it is as well in case you need to go up an oversize...
