Man I can't ride for shit in the dirt :lol2: Went out to big river today with a couple of mates who had a ride there organised with some other mates etc etc. It was cold, it was snotty (although not much if any clay, just mud), I failed getting up a pretty big hill and beat around the tracks around the camp site rather than attempt the second more challenging part of the ride.
The kdx got its first hit out and did ok, apart from not wanting to restart easily after my many trips to the ground and the gumby it had bowing its back  I can't begin to describe how much of a fish out of water I'm feeling :lol2: But, we shall persist ;)

Keep at it Neil and all will be good. Here's some pics of the second part of the right up the top of the hill.

I had a ball. Love dirt riding, even though i'm pretty crap at it. Definately need new tyres for the mud.
Just a side note, one of the guys that rode your bike mentioned that he thought it wasn't running very well, not revving freely enough for a little 2 banger.

Hey Rook is it a 02 or 03/04? I can't see the rear master cylinder properly to tell.

Hey Cal, yeah I heard that, and I'm going to pull the top end off to see whether the power valves are moving freely or not and whether the mech advance is working properly. Jay had a ride and didn't think it was overly flat for a kdx, although I tend to think it is as well. So I'm not sure if its just that the kdx just makes soft, lower end power or if there's a real problem.
Will find out soon I reckon, as there's enough rattling noises to make me want to do the top end anyway ;)

If it is easy to take off it's probably not the piston usually a worn top end makes the low end torque go away. Might be main bearings!! They usually get neglected on ag bikes, I mean trail bikes. :D
