both of this 250F caught my attention
went to look at the honda, but saleman said can't pass inspection
thus, can't be registrable on the street...

then, i went to yamaha showroom, and i saw the WR250F
it got all the goodies on it!! like handguard, aftermarket bars, carbon fibre lookalike skid plate, alum muffler which look better than the ol wr400 type, etc.. :D

now,i'm so tempted to get the yamaha..
what should i do now.. :?:

arrghhh!!!!!!!!!

I know of two very high milage wr's one is Muzz' the other a freind who had it set up as a motard from day one.
Both bikes kept differently my freind was slack and it still clocked up 18k+km before he sold it only a speedo went haywire ( fixed under warranty)

I doubt crf of any type will do that!!!!

Go yamaha :D

Well, by all accounts the CRF is a nicer handling bike, but lacks a bit in the engine department. CRFs also seem to require quite a lot of valve maintenance whereas the WRs are quite reliable in that way. So given those factors then I'd definately be leaning toward the WR, as the CRFs handling advantage is probably most only seen in tight trail riding and not really applicable to motard usage... 8)

Around 10,000 bucks
I paid $9,800 for my 450 it came with pipe bars and new tyres would of been another thousand if I got it registered.
It was about to be setup as a demo and had done 400km buy the bike shop.

I thought it was a good buy. The first 05 model was being put togeather when I went in but a 8 litre tank turned me off.

I paid $12000 for my '04 WR450 when it was new about 18 months ago and at the time that was a good deal up here in Qld.

Go the yamaha if any motocross based bike is going to last it would be the Yamaha.
Hey Neil have you ridden a CRF cos I don't think they handle as good as the Yamaha. I've read all the magazines and some think it is god some don't, I wonder how much money honda spends with each magazine???
Go the Yamaha it's a better bike all round (I recon)
Or go a Husky they have the warranty (here at least) that no Jap bike has!! I have 11000km's on mine and it has had a hard time. I have the scraps on my leathers to prove it!!

Nah, havent ridden one myself, but then again I'd probably not be able to tell the difference anyway  I'm mainly going off what trev says regarding them and the fact that the wr250 has a bit of a net rep as the 250 that turns like a 450 ... compared to crf, kxf/rmz, etc.

But seriously, I'd go with the yamahahaha myself as well

And be prepared to spend up to 16K once you start with the initial purchase of the bike.
It doesn't take long now with bikes at $12000 or there abouts before starting the motard build up...
