View Full Version : TRACK DAYS AT BROADFORD
Ok here goes, I,ve contacted champion ride days about joining in at broadford when their running there. They said we are welcome to join in. The cost is $135 for all day SAT But if we book under the VSMR umbrella for 6 or more riders then it,s a saving of $25 dollars which is $110 per rider per day.(insurance coverage)
You only need a valid or canncelled (JUZ) Vic licence. A roadworthy bike helmet, boots and a full set of leathers . There is also sets of leathers for hire on the day for those who have none but they must be booked as they only have a limited no of sets. This is TT not racing but we can time each other to see who's the fastest for our own records.... ;) If you are interested contact me via PM. I have to book it and prepay to get the saving. If you book and cannot attend you must notify me to sell your spot to another rider because I have to list the riders under my group booking. If you carnt sell your spot or turn up tuff you did your hard earned cash.. Spectators and family enter free... they have tyre changing and food and drinks ambo's and marshells all supplied. This sounds like a good option for those who want to give it a RED HOT GO  ..... Of course I'll take heaps of photos cause I got no bike and I get in for free..... ;)
Reply to this thread for numbers interested, the PM is for when I book!!!!!!!

Would be good to do a motard assault on Broadford, no other motards showed up on the day i went, get enough numbers we might get the supermoto course, with my current commitments i'd be looking at March probably.

There's probably 2 options with broadford - one is get in with champions, the other is to see what commitment they'd need to run a dedicated motard day where we can shorten the track using the service road just before the pits (see photo below) and open up the dirt section...

Yes neil good idea but the rental for the track is $5000 per day I,ve spoken to the track manager Pat fletcher and at this stage it's no but if we get enough guys going on the champion days and they see the motards coming more oftern it's a maybe in the future...
There is the MX option does anyone know peter Hearn cause I cannot find his Ph no he runs the MX track there i think...
As I have stated we need to make an impact  , we need as many riders as we can get to pre book This is booked by one for all in VSMR which I will do as I;ve already had contact with both Pat of broadford and Nicole at CRD. Until we get the commitment and No's as neil said CRD is the way to go they povide everything. if we rent the track as I said its 5000 smackers then we need marshells, insurance Bla Bla Bla Bla Ect,,, Ect>...
Pat said They tried a Supermoto or Motard day didnt get the No's and also the road guys winged flat out bout the dirt left on the track that was'nt cleaned off....Thats why it's NO at this stage for the dirt/tar combo track....
This thread is just to see if it's worth following up on the C.R.Days for time being if it is and works out, I'll really get the fangs and claws out for all you guys, as you know I don't have a bike and this sort of thing makes me feel more apart of the seen I'll fight for you guys to ride there if we get it together....If I could put wheels on my chainsaw I'd give it a RED HOT GO!!!! ;)
I should be hanging off my chainsaw right now as I feel the atmosfer changing and its gonna rain again and I need the wood in!!! to supply through winter... and try to get a bike happening...But I'm at home sorting out this and watching Kids.... But you carn't be everywhere....

Numbers is always the hard thing of course ... even the efforts for 2WMM sounded like they struggled to find numbers state wide :(

I would love to have a go at something high speed like that, but honestly I just couldn't come up with that sort of money for a days ride at the moment. :(

I think we could gather around 10 riders if it was in advance to be able to plan for it.
The size of the venue discounts bikes like mine and would be a stretch even for the 450 bikes.
Woohoo... I'll be kicking ass then!
But, $110 v $35? For a track day in the hundreds, i'd rather take a sports bike around the island.

Good once and a while but TT track will be my main track for no other reason than $$$$

Broadford on a motard is great fun and would be bliss if you could use the cut though to remove the long straights.
The back section is just sweeping corners that go for ever, or at least feel like it compared to the tight South Morang. The additional cash is well spent as a once off (unless you love it and then its all the time).
I will be up there some time in February, probably with a varity of bikes ;)

I think if we could get a gaurantee of the short track and the dirt section you'd see a whole more hands go up that's for sure.
And if word got out up in NSW that Braodford were going to do that for us everytime numbers would surely be bolstered.
I don't mind paying $110 every 3 weeks or when I could spare it, to be able to ride on a decent track with a decent dirt section too.
If we did have to mix with the roadies tell them to have the dirt section altered so it doesn't re-enter the circuit where the road bikes have got it leaned over on a corner exit. How hard could it be? I'll bring some witches hats and we'll just cut our own new groove!

Short track is the only possibility, it 1 group of a ride day could use the cut through. But you are never going to get a dirt section.

TT is it for me too.
Cost of fuel to travel coupled to the track fees would make it a $300 plus day for me.
We could revamp TT with a decent dirt section if there was interest and people to assist in the workforce needed.
Its a technical track as we know and until you can ride it fast and consistantly why create undue expense?
Its a good thing that Ian is looking after us by way of meeting and greeting with a view to track use though.
Hit up the Puckapunyal kart club and see where we go,
That would be a great advantage ;)

Hey Muzz I'm still keen if you are!
All you need to do is organise the machinery for free, free diesel, people to operate said machinery for free, permission from owners/operators of the track, maintenance of dirt section, stop the karts from having a sook about the dirt on the track, etc.
Sounds simple enough, I can see it happening probably next month.

So positive Sibbo!!
I've got a shovel too.
And we can use sibbo's head to sweep the track after each session.

Prove me wrong, build a huge, great dirt section, have the motard masses come and pack the track every weekend, use the numbers to get a state based race series, use the pack grids to get racing on Melbourne kart tracks and have motard racing and regular motard specific track days as a regular event here in Victoria and I will eat humble pie.

You only need a valid or canncelled (JUZ) Vic licence.

I got my Vic Roads 5 year history and demerit update the other day.
I have 2 left so I am safe for the moment. This could all change tomorrow. ;)

If i could give you some of my points I would mate got all 12 at the moment prob due to having no Bike
Ok I understand fully the impact of that cash outlay. As I'm a low income earner with a house and Three kids. I was just trying for a bigger track so ya can really wind it out!!! It was never my idea to replace Sth morang, but have Broadford as a once in a while organised alternative to push the club idea forward and get noticed as a serious option for the tard seen. Thats what we need to even maybe poach more riders from other forms of riding  Oh I can be a pirate too ARGGGGGGG!!!!
I'm trying to swap otwo SAT per month at work as well to be able to get to TT see what happens.

I think the best option with Broadford at the moment is to just organise a group of tards to jump in on the one orgainsed ride day with champions.
Future sessions:

Sunday 17th Feb anyone?

CR days runs there too but not the short track only the long, as most bikes running there are 600 to 1000's....
So Broadfords still the best option... ;)
