Sorrry to waste your time guys , ive been getting a few opinions on tyre pressure as im running 17inch excelrims with dunlop Gpr70 front and back and im no racer i cruise the streets more so and a few of you have seen me at TT on one occasion and now im confused what pressures i should run front and rear as i do bugger all track work , my ktm dealer says round 29-32psi for both front and rear but i have had heard a few conversions running much much lower as taken into consideration im doin more street riding than anything , some light on this subject would be great ??

Also what kind of maintenance do the rims need , as like the dirt wheels do i check and tighten all spokes evenly or what ?? i think its a lil more crucial having the spokes tight more so on the road than dirt ( correct me if im wrong ) cheers fellas

for the street i'd say 30 front and back. if you go to much lower then all your doing is increasing tyre wear. 30psi will provide plenty enough grip for the streets.

30 front & back for street. For long rides with any decent straight sections you can run up to 36 in the rear to prolong tyre life, just don't crack it open right in the middle of a corner :)

I use Dunlop GPR10, they tyre that replaced the GPR70 and i run 26 in the front and 28 in the rear on the street.

I run about 26 front and back!

I had 30 in it and it felt like shit...

Great info from all thanks heaps ,

What about maintenance on the wheels ?? spokes ? ??

Mainance: Replace your broken spokes with non-broken spokes (berg has too much hp and keeps breaking them). Other than that, same as for the dirt bike.

PSI for the road: Same as the track (I dont do many road ks), as if you cant do stoppies on cold tires, then your pressure is too high. I would suggest you try from 20 to 30 and see what feels right for you and your riding needs, as everyone is different.

Sibbo, your berg has 50hp at the wheel tops. Stop pulling it.

So a berg with 65 rwhp should weigh 114 - 65 = 49 kgs??

Yep. Some bergs. Not yours.
Its just that mine does not get the throttle turned enough

Thats all the reports from people that dyno their bergs.

I know its hard for others to accept that their bikes are gutless compared to a berg, but get used to it. :P

But lets keep this on topic.

Tire pressure people.

I'm going by the dyno otherwise known as the back straight at Calder Park. My 525 has been monstered on straight-aways by 560's, 650's and even 450's. Your 650 was going nowhere. Maybe it's got some issues.

Yeah the issue was sibbo riding it i think :finga:

or maybe berg owners need to spread gossip and fake dyno numbers to feel better abot owning a time bomb :P

Next time you are in town, lets do a test of hp and no skill. 2nd gear roll on through into top over a long straight with all skill taken out.

I would bet on the berg killing the 525.

The reason you were with me at Calder is prob cos you wound it on harder and sooner than I did out of ther corners and braked later for the corners.

I know a few times that guys got better drive out of the corners, came up a little bit on me, but could not make it past, cos the berg had too much hp.
