Got a Motomaster 4pot, braided line, 320 flame disc and braking master set up of Egay for 700.

Caliper does have pad retaining pin or pads. Anyone know where i get these from?

Set has 2 bleed valves, one on master the other on caliper. Wats the trick to bleeding this? And wat do i flush the system with to clean and clean caliper.

Cheers

if you are buying brakes at least buy the real set they are not much better than the standard mx set up

Use the bleed nipple on the master cylinder to get rid of the air in the master cylinder, do this first.

Then bleed the caliper using its nipple as per normal.

I would assume it would be fine but once you have the disc you will be able to to see if they fit or if they sit proud/dont locate the rotor properly.

They should fit fine! all the cr's and crf's from 95 onward have the same hub pretty much.

sorry mate i missed read the question i though you where looking to buy , i ment for you to hold out for some thing better .
its a great road brake set up but you are building a race bike , what thickness is the disk they come in 4 and 5 mm i think you need the fat one or it will go blue and warp.
those calipers you can run with a standard master cylinder if you have a brembo ,berenger, magura etc you just cant get the standard master to work meaning that caliper holds very little brake fluid and it will overheat quickly and fade.

this all depends on how late and hard you grad them   Devo had a lot of brake problems for the first part of last year , and you should easy kick his slow arse so you will need good stoppers :D :D :D

i was keen to get the beringer 6 pot but got ripped with the transaction on the sale of my property so i had to make do. I know they are not as good as that.

Its got the 5mm disc, with a braking 16 master with braded line and i will run the race compound pads. I heard these can run with standard master but seems dodgy to. if it didn't come with other master i wouldn't have brought.

money has already been spent on suspension, wheels and other things so this non sale of the property left me no choice. it will do for a while plus i think for 700 i will be able to move them again without losing much money. Or i could build a crfX450 for the road.

brakes will be the "weakest" part of my set up but it will be awhile before i am fast enough for it to matter. hopefully by then i will have this property sorted and it will be beringer 6 pot all the way.

SO does anyone known the Oz distributor for either Braking or Motomaster????

I run that set up on my WR and I think it works great for the street & a little bit of playing around in the quiet suburbs, but I have got fade quite bad when its pushed hard for an extended period of time.

Just the stocko jobby, that's probably why, but like I said it still works great.
By the way thats the set up that the Troy Lee team used and Wardy won the 05 series on it, cant be too bad.

I'm sure you have worked it out since this post is a little old....but the motomaster needs a smaller master cylinder to work properly. A 16mm master will feel wooden.

I have both the Honda TRX master cylinder which is 12.7mm, and the stock Nissin 11mm master.
The TRX comes on like a light switch and is crap in the dirt because of the lack of feel.

The 11mm feels progressive but pulls into your fingers (if you 2 finger brake) and gives the feeling of not being enough of a M/C.

I fixed this......
remove the lever adjuster screw and the small nut that is threaded on it. find a thinner nut or a spring washer and replace the screw. Effectiveley what you wil have done is..............the adjuster screw when turned out - makes the lever come closer to the bar, but when all the way in, it gives you the most lever room. The factory set up is so that the lever won't put pressure on the piston...creating brake drag.
BUT - there is a small gap that you can bridge by finding a thinner nut, and it gives much better clearance, because the m/c is now braking at its strongest a little further away from the bar. If you are a 2 finger braker - it makes a world of difference.

btw - Motul 600 is the only fluid I would ever use. It has the highest boiling point of any non-silicone fluid.
cheers
Marcus

What's the go with the Motul660? I picked it up thinking it was the 600, and only just noticed its a new one. Hope it isnt the silicone version.
