After 37000 kms the engines out for major overhaul...
Not that it really showed many signs of needing it but I thought time to do it before a failure that could get costly.
So I pulled it out and now that it is all apart, I am ready with the wallet.
A complete crank assembly as the camchain has worn the drive sprocket badly, and all bearings including the gearbox also to be replaced as it would only be a matter of time anyway before they would be needing attention.
Couple that up to the new top end, valves and piston ring assembly and almost a new engine... as good as one to me.
Around $1800 in parts so far...
If I get another 2 years hassle free riding like I have had for the last 2 years, and the thrills of blowing off them Desmosedici riding fags, its worth every cent.
I will start the frame painting process real soon to add the bling in harlequin candy blue/purple...
Polish the swinging arm, and ALL the engine cases, well everything un-anodised. I have a mate who is a fibreglass motorcycle fairing manufacturer that is helping me with a radical set of bodywork that will leave you with that love it or hate it decision.
Some 'sportbike' like features as an insight...
And low, how low can you go? We will see how far a Yamaha will go anyway!
