Don't pay for labour.
Where do you live? I'm sure there's someone on here who's willing to show you how to do most of the work yourself, (if you don't already know).

3 week old chains don't just snap, especially a decent quality one like an RK.
Was it too tight?
Was it incorrectly peened?
Out of alignment?
You should be able to work out why it broke by looking at the chain and the wear marks on it.

If you paid someone else to fit it, first show them, then the importer. It can only be a fitting or manufacture error, both possible but more likely the first.
Reasonable to ask for it to be fixed, if it didn't break cases no great worry----I'd put the new bit of chain that got cut off in and fit two rivet links --max cost about $12. If it broke cases, have a drink.

Yer true of the shop fitted it, and it was fitted by a noob at the shop. u might be able to get a new one
it was fitted by a bloke who knows his shit. the chain was the culpret for sure. a link failed while i was under heavy compression braking and we are going through the importer before and he has to pay for the damages as it is dead set the chaing..... the outer plate of the link cracked. iv calmed down and realised that it just part of owning a bike and that it wasnt the bikes fault ( never had a problem with my stock chain )
anyways the stock chain is going back on as is the gearing.
my mechanic has delt with huskies since they came into australia and races them regualry ( sp) i was there and watched him fit it- btw it wasnt the joining link that snapped....
either way damage is broken mount that holds the case saver, rear master cylinder took a big hit, and the engine case did as well but thankfully no crack, which means i can ride it untill RK or the importer forks out the money.
my mechanic has delt with rk before with things like this as he broke 3 chains while racing his nox.
so im confident that it will all be fixed up and i will have some shiny new parts to go on my bike.
hay, gota look at the bright side of things eh? il post pics up of the chain when the mechanic sends them to me as i took the bike straight to him.

The stock Husky chains are very good as well! I wouldn't have changed it unless required for gearing
i wanted to try some different gearing and needed shorting gearing for my off road wheels set ( i.e needed to be able to run at least 14- 47 whilst still being able to run 15- 43-45.
its safe to say i wont be using an rk chain again. DID is the stock chain.
DID all the way from now on. if anyone buys an rk chain i will bitch slap you.

I snapped a DID on my reed (go kart) many years ago and bent the rod!!
But it did snap when the engine was doing about 19500 rpm

You should have revved it more

well i was backing it in around my local round abouts when it happened.
a link ( not the joining link ) snapped off towards where the pin is ( i will show you pic.

Ha ha ha I did!! well over 20 maybe upto 23000 ( I think I saw)
on closer inspection multiple cracks can be found through out the chain in the link outer plates.
RK are very concerened about the batch of chains mine was in..

They would want to be, cos they are going to be in for some handing out of $$ and shit canning of reputation.
yeah. just and update, link totally shafted me, saying their chance was in the right and that it was huskies fault and that they werent going to replace the chain as exsesive heat is what caused the brake.
well i told my local husky dealer and how he is willing to take them to fair trading for slandering husky saying their is nothing wrong with my bike and that their advertising is false as they claim to be the number one performance heat chain.
they are sending a rep to look at it and if they dont come to the table with something then fair trading it is.
alos motoroino in para said they would take care of it- 3 weeks laters ( i was preocupied with recovering from accident ) i rang up link and they never even heard about it- thanks motorino..... they still have my jacket and said they are looking for it.... its been 4 weeks since i sent it to get repaired, grr worst dealer i swear.
will let you know whats going on considering things are starting to form up nicely now.

:? Add or remove links ..
Why a replacement then :?:
Or were you just considering it
Its all good Bara,
You will get some satisfaction outta someone.
Unless you are like me and no matter how many times I punch someone,
I dont get 'enough' satisfaction
Hi Bara :)
Ya never got round ta telling me what numbers and letters etc are stamped on the side plates ;)
unless i missed it somewhere :?:
cheers
the slow 1 :)
yeah sorry mate, link internation currently has the chain and are inspecting it...
should i go through insurance to fix it? it is a bitch of a job to replace it but repairing is cheap and easy, i.e drill into the case for a make shift case saver that will only work once but then again, mine only worked once anyway.
