XR's go forever, so I wouldn't worry about a top end unless its clanging rather loudly (like my old XL600 did  ). But, that said, never let that get in the way of a good excuse for a big bore :D

GO FOR IT :D
My 440 kit was great heaps of grunt about the same bottom end power to my wr450 . I only had a standard pipe so a pipe known for top end power and your gonna have a sweet motor.
A freind done all the motor work and got the parts at trade price it was around a grand inluding some minor labour ( Bore & alchahol for payment) thats from memory I was 15-16 when I had it lol. Will check for you.
Enough grunt to fry the clucth but it was not to flash anyway would of went forever with a standard motor tho  LOTS OF GRUNT :!:

Nah, Bore as in bigger hole you should look into it  it was the only labour cost around the $80-$100 mark.
I have paid people with food before no joke lobster and prawns around xmas are great bartering items. But my new job is a bit tight.
Ok from memory we think parts were $650-$750 that would of been clutch aswell tho.
You could buy a good pipe and get nowhere the performance gain for simular money.

A week maybe have it booked in for the bore before you pull it apart?
The parts will be piss easy to get.

Ballards used to do heaps of XR stuff ( http://www.ballards.cc ) ... they do a lot of yamaha gear now but probably still carry the XR gear as well. Used to be able to get replacement 600 slieves etc from them...
