G'Day Guys,

Im considering selling the the tard - reasons are various.
This post has two reasons.
1. See if anyone is interested.
2. See what you think it might be worth.

So for those who have not seen the bike in person heres the details.

Spares;

Cheers guys.

its got to be worth at least 8 or 9 with motard setup and dirt

this one is on tradingpost, dirt only don't know how many Km's wants $7,600 add 2 grand for motard setup $9,600 or so...neg I would probably not let it going for less than 9 as is not work or RWC

Thanks Doogs.

I'd definately part with it for less than that. - its the k's that may put some people off. But I'd like to think due to the service history, people may be reassured.

I think 8 or 9 might be optimistic, though I'd happy for it to be true when it comes time to sell mine.

Seeing as though you havent really got the motard setup sorted yet, what about reverting to dirt and selling your wheels and caliper separately? Might do better that way.

problem with selling is u will get f'all and will take some time. I would think being an 03 people might just spend the extra money for a new one

Dont think it would sell as a dirtie with 11Thou.

Maybe easier to put a disc on and sell...
Having said that, for the street (and BIG tracks) I havent seen a problem running the smaller disc.

I think I'll be aiming for the 7.5K - or a bit more if the buyer needs some gear.
Decisions Desicions...

At this stage time is on my side, so thats covered.
With regards to paying extra for a newer bike, if you can find cheap add ons like wheels, steering dampner and spares yea it would be better.

on another note....

MAAAAAAARKEEEEEEEEEEEEE got a bike yet?

Cheers guys.

They all seem to ask for about $7500neg for a 2003 KTM525 just as dirt bike.
maybe get $7000 + option them to take the wheel sets for extra $1500, if they don't want sell seperate, but you can convince the buyer that Motard
is where its at. 2 bikes for the price of one. Depends how you sell the idea.

not hard to clock up 11 thou on the road I would not be put off by the Ks
on a KTM 11 thou rd ks is low for a euro I think. my bikes get punished in the bush not on the road.

most motards for sale out there seem to add about 1.5- 2
with newish tyres although my initial suggestion is a bit ambitious as devo suggested.

Hey mate!
Whats this garbage about selling your bike!
You better be upgrading.

I myself will probably be buying a new bike early in the new year.
Just started a new job, on monthly pay and have lots of shit going on for xmas as well as moving house. So for the moment I'm jealous as hell of all these ride days, track days and general talk and chit chat.

I reckon you'll sell it quicker in 'dirt mode' cause everyone who trail rides these days wants a big KTM or Yammy (just look at what's on the trailers heading out of town every weekend morning), and there's a hell of a lot of trail riders out there now. There's also a fair few people who want to convert there own bike to a motard so I reckon your wheels etc would sell pretty quickly seperately too.
BTW, that stretch of road in the photo wouldn't happen to be the Melba Hwy, between Castella and Glenburn would it?

I'm onto you Dean.
About 5 km past the Castella Rd turnoff / Yea River bridge at Castella just before the first overtaking lane heading towards Yea,
The parking bay by itself ;)

Dunno yet. Not even sure if I will sell yet either.
I may go OS in the first 1/4 of '08. I figure if I sell it this year there wont be any pressure if I have to leave in a hurry and if I dont leave ill buy another bike - what I dont know... all my circumstance are a bit vague at the moment.
The other thing in the back of my mind is that its an '03 and I wouldnt mind something a bit younger - and/or different.

i would sell it as a dual set up for sure.

story time: when i picked my wheels up an had the bike there checking everything for 5616+5213514 time, a bloke walked in asked me some questions yatta yatta yatta....

turns around and says il give you 10 for it.

as a joke i said 10 and a half. he paused then agreed.

sif sell after the bullshit i went through with it lol.

moral- only reason he was interested was because he wanted a dual set up and didnt want to have to chase parts around.

so i think it would sell better all in one.
