I have an issue with peg sliders.
I bought the KTM ones out of the Hard Parts catalogue, they were absolute crap and were annihilated after a few sessions at TT.
I bought a set of the ones Ash was peddling a while back but after 2 sessions at TT on Sat the left one is back down to the peg again.
Ash, are you planning on making any more?
If not, can you put me onto someone who can machine them up?
Can they be made from a more durable compound to make them last longer?

I think they should be made from DELRIN. Its a plastic that has big resistance to wear and a lot of the frame sliders on the market today are made from this plastic. You can get this plastic from a place in Sunshine (Victoria) A J Plastics.
cut up some chopping board and zip tie them on

have you been looking in my shed? thats what I have got but machined / cut some tracks so the peg recesses into them to keep them in place and zip tie is only to hold them onto the peg

I have had some success with cutting skateboard wheels in half, taking the peg off the bike and putting it in a vice that I can heat it with a blow torch then clamp the half skateboard wheel to the underside of the peg so that it melts half way into the plastic. Just to make sure it stays secure I drill a couple of holes for zip ties to hold it all together. I have crash tested it a few times and it works well. I will try to post a pic with help from Muzz

I think these ones are already made of DELRIN, I was hoping Ash would be able to confirm this.
Gordon's half a skateboard wheel might be worth a go though, thanks Gordon. :)

I will be Juz but it's time atm.
I use a form of polyethalene. It slides better and is harder than delrin.

Get your arse in gear buster, I need some too
Wouldnt it be cheaper to just wait until the peg bears away and get a new one? :P

Not so good for being allowed onto new tracks.

They don't fit 180 degrees but I guess if I get the hacksaw out and re-slot them then they will. :)

Not too good for the track, it's the corners it's slowly doing damage to. :(

Yeah, no worries mate, I'll wait for you to come over. *cough*
There is no possible way I could snip a zip tie and spin something 180 degrees all by myself. :P

Juz - Ash's are sliders are made from HDPE or UHMWPE (polyethylene) Delrin (Acetal) is what I used on my axle sliders - it's a harder material but apparently PE has the better wear rate and lower coefficient of friction.
