Maybe its a bit late notice.... to be honest i never even thought about inviting anyone from this group. Maybe thats because your all a bunch of pricks?
But anyway... for the last 5 years ive been doing this ride. Its a leave saturday morning from out emerald way and home again sunday arvo type ride, so not for the weak arse riders. Accomodation is $46 incl a cooked breakfast. Usually somewhat of a piss on at night. Its just a bunch of friends so not any sort of organised ride.
pm me if any last minute entries are interested. I believe im the only tard in the group.

My bikes not registered at the moment Brendan or you and your mates could have the joy of following me (cause you would never get past  ) up and down Hotham mate,
Maybe next year on my new bike ;)

Tell me Muzz, what is your new bike going to be.

One with Flexx handlebars and more snot than the current one ;)

Seriously,
I lean in the 'performance over maintenance' argument towards performance so the basis would have to be a large part of the issue trying to balance the 'road ability' of the bike for value factor too..
Anything thats fast cost money to maintain, cars, boats, aircraft, SM bikes :)
The Benelli 570SM has my eye unfortunately not ADR compliant until at least the middle of next year with a release due around March for special order bikes.
I would still consider buying the 570SM anyway to suit track use and update it later with an ADR version.
If the BX449/505 comes as an ADR compliant Enduro later in the year it too would be a contender after an SM conversion, along with the 570SM.
Would be nice to have both of course :D
An Aprilia SVX450 is also a close runner due to the ADR compliance and ability to register the bike for 'daily use' as well as rippin' the shit off and going racing straight away ;)
A KTM 530EXC also looks good at the moment for the performance and ease of bits for a conversion.
Husqvarna have a good offering in the SMR450 but for the same dough I can be riding an Aprilia, end of that thought.

If I go the more conservative road based route to suit fuel prices here and the fact its basically Tania and I anyway so a bike is the best option,
A Triumph Street Triple 675,
KTM 690 SM,
Possibly even an Aprilia Pegaso Strada (abeit the power, a nice bike to ride) with some modifications ;)

And of course one that will take me up and down Hotham faster than the current one as well,
Back on thread .. ;)

Not for me, say hi to my mates they will be riding there though. I think Aggro on the 10r will be talking himself up, but not backing it up.

Thanks for that Muzz.
Just very curious what an experienced "tarder" would buy.
I am also looking at buying something in the next few months and
the varied options out there is mind boggling.
Mine too has to be ADR compliant , but because we have no tracks.
Once again thanks for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it.
Sorry to everyone for veering off the topic.

I did the hotham ride last year this time round, was a beauty! just watch out coming back down the otherside through the trees, there was crap all over the road. my front wheel was all over the place braking for corners cos there would always be a twig right where you don't want one.
