Hey Del,
Firstly, Welcome to the site.
Secondly, have a look in the Gallery section under Yamaha and you shall see my 02 TTR.
You should find lots of information and knowledgable people on here.
I'm sure Muzzard (Murray) will chime in soon with some info and possible some good deals on rims.
My 02 TTR has had the following done to motard it;
# Blue 3.5 x 17 front & 4.5 x 17 rear..
# Avon Distansia tyres (120/70 F ???, 150/60 R)
# I used original hubs (sourced a secondhand set)
# current gearing 14/44, probably changing to 13/42
Not alot of stuff available out there for the TTR but keep looking around (the internet is your friend)
If you need anymore info just ask away..
regards
Rob

Welcome Delboy. :) A TTR250 conversion certainly can be done -

Do you still want to keep your off road wheels as well? If not you can just get some 17 inch rims and lace them to your standard hubs. It looks like the one in this picture (which I just found on the web) has 17 inch Excel rims on standard hubs. Otherwise you could buy some a whole wheel set, hubs, rims, spokes etc. Plenty of info floating around here. There's others who can probably advise you better on the best places to get wheels/accessories ;)
And it looks like James got in just before me :lol:

If Yamaha YZF or WRF are same hubs ( someone else will know that I'm sure) I've got a pair of wheels ready to go see ad in for sale. I'll bring them to Calder this weekend. If you're in Melbourne you have to be there, see bikes #82

Pretty sure that yz/wr hubs dont fit (bearing/axles are different)
