what are the benefits of a floater?
I have never known, is it a heat transfer thing or braking feel things?

The buttons let the disc move a bit, so it can cope with a small amount of deflection without ending up with a vibration from the disc. Means better braking performance over the life of the disc, more resilience to small buckling and (importantly) less pulsing through the lever as a result...

bummer
I went and bought one at silly expense-- just for wet wheel. didn't rain and haven't used it. But we have 2 sets wheels ready to go for 08-- just hope Suzuki don't do something really odd so they don't fit !!!!!!!!
No interest in 07 RM450Z as motard so will go back to being a MXer very soon.
floater will outbrake fixed by a lot and stay cooler doing it-- they can be thinner for same strength therefore lighter. Prob academic for wet wheel but better better than worse I say.
