i can understand springs and valves for weight and more bitumen use

what i dont understand is lowering
:?:
when you go from 21in to 17in you lower the front by 2in?
when you go 19in to 17 in you lower 1in? would this not drastically change the geometry

i have been told by 2 different suspension specialists 2 different things
first was to lower the front 40mm about 1.5in and nothing on the rear the other said you should lower the rear 25mm about 1in which brings the geometry back to standard(ala motocrosser)

who would you believe the second sounds more logical especially when you can change your fork offsets which i have done with a gytr triple clamps

who do you recommend for suspension work to be done anybody got any ideas because im gettin confused

cheers Andrew

Looking for the quicker steering resonse with the offset clamps
if I was to lower the bike I would do both front and rear using the new steering offset as the indicator.

thanks Muzz how low before you start losing clearance

its amazing how two reputable companys can come up with 2 different ideas and both claim they work i know suspension can be a bit personal but this is ridiculous

As you know Andrew peg scraping can be done on non lowered bikes and footpegs disappear fast as they go lower.
Be ready for that at least along with a never ending supply of boot soles ;)
40mm would be about maximum IMO ..

Having a look at some of the photos from the pits in Europe you even see raised seats on un-lowered bikes. How's that for a COG?
