It is with great saddness that I have to duty to inform the members of VSMR that we have had a member fall through love of this sport.
Nigel Dickin or Krumm to his mates, was the third member of the old VSMR (Yahoo Group) when formed some time ago.
Nigel and I shared many phone conversations and internet chat time discussing the future of our sport and he was one of the driving influences into the idea of the Supermotard Enduro canvassed through the forums now.
At that stage Nigel had just got off the sportbikes for the new love of motarding and was regularly 'mugging' sportbikes afterwards through the Brindabella Mountains surrounding Canberra.
He was one of the first blokes to have a motard in Canberra and definitely the first with a 450 Husky. He only recently posted up pictures of some of his handywork in the form of a nifty alloy catch can he had fabricated for his bike as he had a run in with the law and I think he may have posted a thread concerning loss of licence recently for a minor infraction (wheelstand across lights) that saw him dedicate the bike for the next 6 months to the race track. About 12 months ago he took employment in the West and never looked back,
Found himself seated in the heart of W.A Supermoto circles and was a regular attender at the track days held there.
My sympathy and those of the members of VSMR go out to Nigels Wife and children, Those in attendance at the track that day, and all those who love the sport with the passion Nigel possessed, as they will be saddened by the loss.

R.I.P Nigel Dickin...

That's tragic news for everyone. Its painful to see anyone injured or worse because of their love of our sport, but its especially hard when they are one of our own. My most heartfelt condolences go to his family and friends.

Vale Nigel.

Terrible, terrible news...

My heart goes out to the family and close friends, i know the pain they'll be going through in the coming months and years, it's not easy, i know. (I lost my brother 3 years ago racing in the NSW off road championships).

But we all should be reminded that the sport we so dearly love, is a dangerous one.

Once again, very, very sad news.

Take care out there you-all.

Roost-in-peace Nigel.

As you will know Nigel funeral was yesterday,
I have sent a card to Karen expressing our sentiment concerning Nigels unfortunate accident, and passed on our symathies also.
I received a P.M. from Mitch (Backmarker) Thanks Mate  and I suggested he post up about the funeral himself, when he is ready to do so.
Nigels picture from the front page will now be size reduced and permanently fixed as a memorial to his dedication and passion for the Sport.

http://www.supermotowa.com will be back online this weekend or early next week for those wishing to follow the thread concerning Nigels death with the blokes that were there with him...

Howdy from the West,

As Muzz suggested I have posted the PM I sent to him. See below.

Muzz,

Funeral was today. I passed on the feelings of yourself and the guys over east to Karen, and Nig's mum and dad. They were pleased to hear it. It makes them proud that Nig touched so many people.

We had a 20 bike precession through Mandurah (a city south of Perth where Nig lives) before a simple service at a Salvation Army Church Hall.

It was great day, Karen and the family are fantastic people and they seem to be holding up OK.

Our forum is back on line tonight. Hope to see you soon.

Mitch
