It is with great saddness that I have to duty to inform the members of VSMR that we have had a member fall through love of this sport.
Nigel Dickin or Krumm to his mates, was the third member of the old VSMR (Yahoo Group) when formed some time ago.
Nigel and I shared many phone conversations and internet chat time discussing the future of our sport and he was one of the driving influences into the idea of the Supermotard Enduro canvassed through the forums now.
At that stage Nigel had just got off the sportbikes for the new love of motarding and was regularly 'mugging' sportbikes afterwards through the Brindabella Mountains surrounding Canberra.
He was one of the first blokes to have a motard in Canberra and definitely the first with a 450 Husky. He only recently posted up pictures of some of his handywork in the form of a nifty alloy catch can he had fabricated for his bike as he had a run in with the law and I think he may have posted a thread concerning loss of licence recently for a minor infraction (wheelstand across lights) that saw him dedicate the bike for the next 6 months to the race track. About 12 months ago he took employment in the West and never looked back,
Found himself seated in the heart of W.A Supermoto circles and was a regular attender at the track days held there.
My sympathy and those of the members of VSMR go out to Nigels Wife and children, Those in attendance at the track that day, and all those who love the sport with the passion Nigel possessed, as they will be saddened by the loss.
R.I.P Nigel Dickin...
