OK, After some advise on the muffler position. It seems it is a standard full Remus system but I am unhappy with the position of the rear mufflers.

The standard mufflers sit higher at the back and tuck in better.

I have looked at the mounts and reckon they can be made to fit in the new position with no hassles but my question is can the rear pipe be heated and bent so the rear of the muffler is higher?

Anyone know a good craftsman in Melbourne who could do this, and what would it cost?

The pipes are titanium.......thanks!

If they're ti then i'd be giving someone like tingate a ring and see if he has any time to look at it or can put you on to someone else...

If they were mild steel I'd pull the muffler off, heat the bejeezus out of the last bend of the link pipe and use some piping to bend them upward. But that's because I know if I pharked them up (the pipe diameter at the bend) I could just cut them and get some new mild steel piping bent up to suit. With ti it could be a much more expensive exercise to try :D

You might want to leave them where they are, as they might clear the rear tyre better than stock, which could be the reason for the strange positioning?

Ti is a pain in the arse to weld as well! YOu need a purge tank to do it otherwise the welds will corrode

Nice bike Paul ;)
As much as it pisses you off, there is not a lot that can be done cheaply because of the Ti construction.

Sell the pipes on the bay and get another set Paul, you'll probably not lose too much if you bought the bike with the system on already.

Where in melb are you? Im dealing with Madaz in FTG at the moment. Theyre a really good bunch. They make custom exhausts. Im sure they could do something.

The Ti is not the issue as thats just the construction of the skin on the cans and you wouldn't be modding the cans, you want to mod the back end of the headers by shortening them a tad and raising the angle up a bit too like Neil mentioned. The headers look like stainless steel from their color in the picture so it shouldn't be too hard a job. Like Nerb says, Madaz should be able to tackle a job like that.

Yep, on having a look the pipes are stainless so I will drop into the mob in FTG during the week and have a chat too them!!!

Went for a spin today with the rear baffles out and it is a bit louder, dosent seem to backfire as much and sounds choice.......I'm jumping for joy!!!

The alternative is drink half a carton and break out the angle grinder :lol2:

Your aim wont be too good after half a carton.
