sweet boys post up some pics and the photo gallary! we got 25 members after 2 days pretty good!
F*ck I feel old! I just don't get this 'social networking' thing at all.
Why would I want to sign up to some site and chat to other people who share similar interests? Say, for example, Motards?
Oh, hang on. Aint that what this is?!?!?
I only get into it to keep in touch with people I know, or people I want to know (fellow motard riders fit the bill). Works good for that.

Sif Muzzard is gonna join up. VSMR.net is about socialising with the motard community in Australia and I'm sure he's spent a bit of time and effort setting it up.
Why would he just jump across to another site?

Its hardly being a traitor... a little tiny group within a network is nothing compared to a dedicated website like this...any person who isnt on vsmr but into motards might be on facebook as it is huge network for everything else.. i think it will drum up more members here in the future.

I'm hearing what your saying and have joined the 'facebook' group with the idea of it becoming a drawcard to more motard riders and interested persons to here.
VSMR is a comprehensive base for everything you want/need to know regards motards, its not geographic, although by title.
I dont see a 'facebook' group being anything more than a blogging page for the social side of things really and that is not a criticism, merely an observation.
The layout we (Neil and I) have decided one was because of functionality which is what this is all about.
They're not even in the same ballpark, in much the same way that MSN messenger isnt a replacement for VSMR, just another way to keep the crap out of the forum.

what are you trying to say devo? keeping crap out?
i'm not paranoid...but that doesnt mean theres not people out to get me!

I thought long and hard but work would chuck a fizzy. I'll stick with this VSMR. 8)

razbags, it's Department of Defence, a company of sorts. ;)
They have no sense of humor when it comes to internet use, many sites are blocked and all of your internet usage is logged.

No fat chicks in party hats or strippers with misguided walking aids.
Some would say there is even a filter that detects skin tone in email attachments which means it's really only safe to love gerbils whilst you work.
Maybe they are working on a gerbil email filter, then the fellas are in trouble.
With links like that. i dont know how long I'll be here.
As in the ability to log in I mean...

So long as you dont go to

no one will ever know over your way mate.
You'll be damn fine
Suggest *cough* you dont follow too many of the longwinded links here or any of Neils concerning party hats,
They always end up with a naked fat chick wearing a party hat anyway ;)
That's not my form, Neil can have his links and eat them too....

Oh my...That fat chicks in party hats is actually a real site.

I think we should be very concerned as to how Neil knew this site existed in the first place.
is it the australian motard riders association group? If so, it seems to be mostly women? Are you all posing as girls? Ive heard about that sort of thing on the net!
In fact the only name i recognise is sibbo, and he's holding a gun and wearing a ski mask!

* BUMP *
Now although I wasn't real switched on to the Facebook deal 18 months ago I am sure getting it now.
I have had a few telephone conversations recently with some racers living OS with regards to whats happening in the AU scene for SM next year and as a whole with the demise of a few 'teams and supporters' at top level globally,
With the results being jump on Facebook and keep in touch.
I have encouraged a few through PM to jump on the wagon for the benefit of also linking, possibly taking forward their racing, and also the social side of motarding.
From the competition side of things, I have a long list of contacts that I have rekindled with the aid of Facebook.
Some of the people are well known and profiled racers and in the right circumstance could also be very helpful to anyone serious about top level competition.
Like Steve said earlier its not a replacement for VSMR but certainly a handy tool to use along side it, more so as we swing over to a more 'nationally titled' domain for SM in Australia under http://www.supermotoaus.com ;)

Thinking out loud as I often do here ...
OK purely speculation on my part but still when I put a few different things together ..
Teams withdrawing from competition at all levels and no where really to replace the need of the riders and supporters still in there through being industry based and globally marketed.
Maybe we are going to be the 'new black' in Supermoto and are about to actually see a ripple in our pond being Australia and SM as a whole.
Not my work but that of what could be the profile of the Northam Festival and that of Davide Gozzini and the TM Team.
Read on and then reassess the Facebook thing from the networking perspective with a view to information gathering and a future in SM globally.
http://www.ma.org.au/Content/MA/NewsEvents/OneononeWednesday/One_on_one_Wednesday.htm
Like I said my Facebook account has been very active lately with many rekindled friendships
Just wondering why the interest in the AU scene leading up the new season and still nothing from MA :?
