Anyone tried modifying a sportsbike caliper to fit a front SM rim? I'm thinking a grinding disc and a bunch of jbweld should do the trick!

the normal 4pot caliper from any street bike is way too wide to fit into the rim
but i have found the aprilia 125 with 4pot caliper
it is about the same width as the motomaster 4pot caliper!!!
:D
perhap it would be another project on my motard XR400

Only problem is that its a right hand caliper on them little RS125 thingos. Which means some kind of funky mounting ... maybe upside down?

How are the pads retained?
That would be the only factor really when changing the caliper positioning

As in its a right hand caliper, so the casting is made such that the caliper bolts on the left hand side of it flush to the caliper mounting bracket. So you'd either need some weird over-the-top type of milled mount (such would be flexy as hell) or would need to mount the thing upside down to get the mounting points on the casting on the correct side....
