So while the bike is in bits I'm gonna get the frame powdercoated and the forks anodized to get rid of the heinous pink. Found this CR500 mock up on SMJ and as I'm running similar colours (red seat + white plastics) I'm thinking of red for the frame. What do you blokes reckon RED or stay with WHITE? :-k As for the forks I'm getting them done red as well.

The thread is worth checking out CR500 SuperMoto Project - Supermoto Junkie

I'm with Flash on this - I'd get the frame powdercoated in matt crackle black

Red is cool too, better than white.

Black or gun-metal grey - is there any other colour for frames?

Thanks for the input fellas. I like matte black as well but I'm thinking I'm gonna go retro and use red. Gold would be sweet but I think the novelty would wear off pretty quick.

I'd consider the swingarm too. (Black).

Black frame and swingers do look supercool. What to do :?: :-k #-o

Not sure, but check whats better for chip resistance, powdercoating vs anodozing vs nickelplating.

I think that anodizing is the best for durability but youll need to go shiny finish (Which I like, expecially on the swingarm).

Then again Im only speculating here.

Go to bunnings and get a can of white knight matt black spray paint and a piece of sandpaper. That bike looks like a lot of fun, but it's never going to be a show bike and powdercoating can be expensive.

Where in the hills are you postie moto? I've done a lot of miles in those hills - wrecked 3 bikes. My bro still rides a lot up there on a red and black bandit streetfighter. There's some bad arsed pieces of road up there...

really? I thought it was a pretty cheap exercise. You blokes are right about dumping to much money into it, I'll probably crash it in the first ride given my riding ability
see how it goes, i'll get some proper quotes.

Let us know what the quote comes in at, all i hear is rumours about what things cost. I'd like to hear some real quote figures for custom work.

Everything Red Dan.
Swingarm as well and polish the links.
Powder coat everything, not paint.
Polish the fork legs, and all the alloy components, except the gold anodised pieces.
Dare to be different mate ;)

North East Powder Coaters here in Wangaratta,
$125 for blast and coat any M/C frame including swingarm.

Powder coating isn't too bad for price! Spray painting becomes costly

I'm getting the triple clamps polished, as for the swinger I'm not sure. I'll play on photoshop and see what you blokes think.

I love the swingarm on this thing

the bottom one is a Honda concept bike and it looks a whole lot worse in real life!

Powdercoating something like a frame should not be expensive - especially If you do the prep yourself and it's a super hard finish - I reckon $150-$200 max. I get a lot of powdercoating done for work and the most I've ever paid was $1200 for nearly 2 tonne of assorted fabricated bits. If you were in Melbourne I would tell you to call A-Class powercoating and ask for a price, but you're not.

Bet the bloke at Honda who came up with that piece of shit was doing some serious crack at the time.
Suggest now doing life in the Honda 'Indicator Globe Fitting Division'
That is fucking woeful,
Is it supposed to be Spidermans bike

Blacked out bikes always look great but in this case I like the red frame better. I'll get the swingarm polished as well I think.
