Woohoo - someone else is using Firefox, which is now drawing away from netscape according to the web site statistics (http://www.vsmr.net/modules.php?name=Statistics) 8)

Being the keyboard and I.T. specialist that I am Neil,
What is this Firefox you speak so highly of?

Wobbly
10-04-2005, 01:01 AM
It's the (relatively) new web browser written by those good people at mozilla, based on the old netscape navigator core by the looks of things. Basically a replacement for Internet Explorer, but generally without the bugs and exploits that the fine micro$oft product has

A lot of the Firefox hits are probably from me.
I'll own up to the BSD hits as well.

Aha, good-o ... I'm reduced to using IE right at the very minute because of a complete reinstall because of my amd64 upgrade

Btw, these new 19" LCD flat panel monitors are just the ducks nut 8)

10-04-2005, 03:01 PM
Neil.... firefox by 2. :finga: just installed and use it so as to negate the crap that MS products seem so susceptible to. 8) Also use Thunderbird email and Sunbird calendar. Does not seem to have interface abilities of Micro$oft, but it will only be a matter of time. :D

Wobbly

yah ... personally i like email programs just to do email, internet explorers for actually exploringt he internet, etc etc rather than the m$ way of putting a whole bunch of stuff in various apps that turn them fat and open up a whole raft of exploits and hacking opportunities :?

but, i spose you've got to give the script kiddies something to keep themselves amused

Neil,

Im definately a Firefox man... have been for a while now.

Also use Thunderbird for email as Outlook just used to give me the sh*ts!

Only trouble is we havent quite got the B_Comp site to work (layout issues) in firefox but we'll get there.

Chris

Another record month rolling around,
Should go to 130000 hits, (currently at 128500),
Maybe indicative of the improving weather and riding conditions, but I would prefer to believe it our informative, sometimes funny explanations to the highs and lows of the world of Motarding ;)
Certainly there has been a significant increase of folks wishing to/using the Track Facility at GPTC we worked so hard to secure for motards.
As the facility has recently changed Administration, we are keen to assist with the rejuvenation of the Complex and this means we could be having the odd track working bee/BBQ/evening ride session, to assist wherever possible with that cause. ;)

Impressive stats.
Interesting time's that the pages are getting hit.
Take today for example. The stats pages states that the majority of the hits are between midnight and 3 am.
Is there a forum script that can be added in that does a whois so we get stat's tracking IP's to regions of the globe etc?

Why are these people not posting?
Hmmm.

OK, some figures to spin you out a bit for a 'not for profit bunch of losers'.
Last year we had a milestone of the 1 millionth page hit.
That was in the latter half of the year,
We also had a total of 982 odd thousand for the year,
over double the 2005 year,
and gives us the total of 1.44 million.
December was also a record month with 143405 hits.
Significant for a webbase to a specific niche Sport in Australia in anyones books.
Well done you fellas, the tech advice and quick responses with correct info is what brings em here, the laughs along the way bring them back.
Without the input from you, all it would not be the valuable resource to motarders that is has proved to be.

2007,
January 1st shows already 15000 odd for the day, which although doubtful about it myself until verified, will be another record day.

This month has been more hits than the whole of 2005.
This year already up a million hits more than last year with December to be added as well.
Good figures are starting to vindicate the hard work behind the scenes and the sponsors will be easier to attract.
A good way to kickstart the new domain when it comes online soon with figures that are going to reflect the same success ;)

Bit of trivia both Neil and I are quite proud of, another anniversary coming round,
Since coming online in January of 2005 we have shown indicative growth doubling the previous year,
With this month looking to be another record month stats wise again as well.
Merry Christmas to all the regular posters and those feeling a bit of a gravitational pull towards the motard movement as a whole.
Hoping that the change over to the new domain name in early next year will see also indicate growth along the same percentage scale or better :D

The forum is only as good as its regular posters and we are blessed ATM with it being a narrow market,
The dickweeds are easily identified and kept at bay.

So a big Thankyou to all concerned,
Justin, Dicky and Mark for assistance in moderating the website over the last 4 years

Constant contact with industry is the focus for this coming year from my angle along with sourcing of serious sponsorship towards some eventing and would encourage others to also regularly bash the ears of your local dealer as to how fucking good motarding is.
Sooner or later someone will overhear you, have a look themselves and find us ;)

So again Merry Christmas and a good New Year you bastards

If we can surround ourselves over the coming year with some really ...
no really enthusiastic blokes like you are Mark,
We have a chance at some standout events, be it what they may and at whatever level.
A similiar event to the Northam Festival would be damn fine but also take 12 months or more to organise unless I can merge some other information gathering portals and local contacts into a cohesive unit that would / could be a very profitable promotion for a smart major sponsor / marketing company
Just like an FIM World Round on the East Coast.
Now wouldn't that be something :P
