Hey Sibbo, has your Husaberg got the same carby setup as the SMC?

That depends on what the SMC has. I have the Kehin 39 FCR, I think.

Keihin 41 FCR
Trying to get my jetting etc sorted at the moment that's all.
Started out with 165 main, OBEKR at 4th clip, 142 pilot.
Installed JD kit, 175main, 145 pilot, red needle #5 clip position, replaced AP diaphram with 2006CRF450R diaphram, and wacked an o-ring around the AP pump mechanism (this reduces the volume of the AP pump squirt, but makes it squirt harder).
Still fiddling with clip positon, as I'm coming up through the gears, if i belt WOT as i come into 3rd it still bogs a bit, before it kicks in.
If i can't get it sorted with the 175 main this evening, i might go back to a 170 main and work from there.

I'm a moron, its a 41.
I can let you know my jetting, but it wont help you much, cos its a different engine.
There are heaps of little tricks with the carb, check out the forum at www.husaberg.org for more carb info.
BTW, my jetting is spot up. Just thought you would want to know :D

Yeah I'll pay that one too!!
I have to say if I was riding on a road track I'd wear a road helmet (if I owned one) but that's about it!

sibbo if you want to make it like a two stroke you can start by putting a slipper clutch ;) whats with the helmets, the mx ones was made for the DIRT, i dont think most of you ride your tard more in the dirt that in the road hey :?: we dont want to make a fashion show for helmets ;)

Plus NOS, plus no fly wheel, plus less weight, plus aggressive fun power delivery, plus cheaper price to buy, plus cheaper running costs.
still haven't let go sibbo ?

I reckon he's saying you have to wash your gear more often coz it smells of 2 stroke oil n fumes.
I love the smell of castor race oil and the 250GP's at the races. Yum...

Ahh.....got you. I love that smell!
But I dont get it enough, cos only cool people ride 2 stroke motards and all the 2 strokes at MX ride away from me, cos they are so fast. Well I am on one 2, but thats not the point!

For what its worth, i've found with the 180 main jet on the FCR41 on the husky that it seems good on WFO throttle but a little rich through the progression, so will be trying the blue needle next. I was running the red needle on 1 clip richer than 'standard' (middle slot) and went back to the middle clip position when I was up in jindabyne, but it could have gone another...
i love the smell of 2 stroke too sibbo

Checked main jetting today by way of plug chop. Running pretty lean with a 195, ended up with a 210, looks pretty good. FYI, Full Ti Akro system with no airbox lid.

How do you get a plug chop with unleaded fuel these days?
As far as I was aware this no longer works....
210 is fukn massive....
I'd get it on a dyno mate and measure the a/f mixture that way.
My 2 cents.

Mine is pretty much free flow except for the stock headers and it's only running a 180 or 185 main with open airbox cover and open pipes.....
I'll pull the carb apart shortly to list the exact jetting specs for my SMC mods wiki page....
That's at 65 metres above sea level.

I had the help of a very experienced and trusted friend.
According to him and others I have have spoken to unleaded doesn't give results that are as obvious but there are changes. I could see the differences quite easily.

Doc, I am not sure I understand.
They will come around once enlightened by the truth
that modern 2 strokes turn and burn better than any 4T...LOL
if they ever decide to make them and not just show them as fantasy technology

They will! they just need to offload all the 4T parts and other assorted stockpiles of bikes and aftermarket bits.
Twin air has a shit load of 4T air filters to sell first along with all the oil filters for major jap brands sitting in factory warehouses all around the world.
It all has to be reduced before any deals are made.
I have now driven a new 2T 3 cylinder outboard, Amazing (Evinrude 75hp)
it was fooken amazing! the motor starts with half a turn of the crank
everytime, and they are light enough to use on a smaller hull than
the four stroke.
The bit that blew me away though was the fact that if you buy the 4 stoke version of this motor, you would have to have it dealer serviced 7 times in the first 225 operating hours as opposed to 'once' with the 2T in the first 225 hours - I feel the need to use an emoticon! :D
