G'day all I am attending a wedding in Melbourne on the 24th of march and would love to meet up with you on the 25th a Sunday for a ride on your lovely track.
I will be bringing a mate with his motard and would love to get a group together like the 16th of Dec because that was a fantastic day
and was great to ride and watch all the motarders of Vic.
Is anyone interested?
Cheers
Andrew

Unfortunately Sundays are out for me this time of year, i'll be working, just looking at the dates, it is an off weekend for our track meets, i will know for sure the day before. ;)

Will certainly try to make it there Andrew.
On a day to day basis at the moment mate so cant be definite and put the hand up.
Maybe we could post this up as a sticky, and try to gather some serious interest outta the site sponsors etc and get another really good day going :?: ...

i know your keen muzzard unfortunately only dangermouse 1100 showed interest even if he cant make it
maybe i should be posting on net rider i might get a better response
in Adelaide we have lost the use of our local track and have no options apart from the road race circuit
come on people get together and ride when you can
if there is no interest it might just be the s.a. boys
or go to nsw where the racing and people are ready to show up and ride
come on fellas im sorry im getting down but we have no motard tracks so use the facilitys and show the owners that you appreciate letting the motards out there
;)
cheers

I'm interested. It's over a month away so anything could come up in between though. ;)
Saturday is usually our day for Sth Morang so we would have to enquire as to if it's actually available or not that day and book it accordingly.
Keep your eye on the thread as interest may grow closer to the date when people know what they are doing...
How about a Motard escort for the wedding on the Saturday? :)

Dont be too despondent Andrew,
Its been a long slow push for me too mate.
I am hoping to turn around the situation I am currently experiencing soon and get actively back into the slog.
I have every intention of still helping you get things off the ground over there, and although you only access to a roadrace facility initially,
It with give you a profile to be attending and riding if possible en masse.
I will be there on the Sunday mate and ride with you blokes ;)
Bring it on you crow eaters!

Muzzard

Andrew and Crew are coming over again, Andrew and Cassy for a wedding, and he is hoping to encourage a few others from SA over if we could get the track.
He contacted Daryl who said 'damn fine'...
Looks like we have a track day on the 25th March mate...

If its a Sunday track day. I am there.
Should we promote this one as a big one? Try and get some more dealers there, are there other shops apart from Berg that will come? Do anyone else sell motards??
I can organise some givaways of gloves etc and shopping vouchers, should be able to get a husaberg demo bike there. Lets do this properly, we have over a month to make it big.

All good Andrew.
Daryl did say on the weekend that there was the provision for camping on the Saturday night within the confines of TT.
Maybe between now and then we could broker an evening session under lights Saturday and try to gather some interest across the other forums...
But we have the access all the same and should take advantage of it.
It would be good to have a digital projector and there and run some SM DVD's as an outdoor theatre.
Anyway a thought for the social committee and maybe from within here there would be such a projector for hire/use ;)
BBQ Dinner or truck in some pizzas/takeaway,
and no drink driving for Saturday night if you bring a fuller than average esky
You only have to be able to feel your way to your tent
Expressions of interest, those who will be a definite,
along any assistance in facilities from here on in please...

I need to give Daryl an indication as to numbers for both the camping on Saturday night and (the possibility of a night session would most likely depend on numbers) those wanting to ride Saturday evening,
And the riders interested in Sunday with the SA fellas.
Saturday night camping, Yes/No
Saturday night session, Yes/No
Sunday Track Day, Yes/No
Simple ;) ...

Not all straight forward sorry:
Saturday night camping: Quite possibly but it will be late after another party commitment made ages ago & if I can scavenge some camping equipment from the Ex's garage tomorrow night & possibly get my bike taken over somehow as I will be coming over in the car. (Mark, are you heading over Sat night?).
Saturday night session : No (Fundless) & due to possible late attendance.
Sunday Track Day: Yes (Funds permitting, fingerscrossed, I'll see what I can scrape together).
I can't do the projector now either, it is being installed this Saturday (by me) to his home cinema roof and he may just notice if I knock it off. Sorry about that one. :(

You and your mate are always welcome Dynofrog.
I really to need to know regards the camping and Saturday night session as much as the Sunday is important too.
We need to set a schedule of events for Saturday Evening.
Time to congregate there would be first agenda.
Obviously while still daylight and I would suggest mid afternoon so those going to say the evening can unload and erect tentage etc and prep bikes for the evening session.
Forward a meeting time of say 3pm to start rolling in...
Yes there will be an Evening Session for those wanting to ride.
Numbers of riders will dictate the length of the Session and noise restrictions will bring an end to the riding.
Session forecast to start @ 7pm for those ready to ride
Cost TBA (Minimal charge for prorata track time)
After Session Entertainment and possible Pizza Delivery ;)
Obviously free to do as you all please but we are trying to get the projector and associated shit together for an outdoor theatre and maybe truck in some takeaway,
Thoughts on that please.
Neil has kindly orgy-ganised the projector, and there must be someone there with a screen, otherwise I will try to gather the necessary shit to make a screen happen.
Short of that we do it onto the wall under the Koisk on the concrete area.
Sunday Track Day
Riding to commence at 9.30am and we would be running 2 groups as the day wears on and people roll in.
Hope you all remember you allocated groups
I know Dave does, he has proudly adorned the Big DR with 22's.
PM me if you dont know your Group and allocated number.

This coming Track Weekend would also make an excellent starting point for those only new to motarding.
The camping is free, you can get all the assistance face to face you will need to get the most out of your motard for both street and track riding in a friendly atmosphere where we have the time and ability to help the most.
As Pauly found out after Murray set the standard with the 300EXC on skinnies,
You can have a great day on a very limited budget even if your bike doesn't have the wheelset and big brakes.
Maybe someone should cross post this onto DBW to encourage some of the boys from there too.
Might even use the dirt section on Sunday then to make them feel welcome
For those wanting to be able to come in late on Saturday night (the gate will be locked) to either sleep in what they set up earlier, or to be in on the Egg and Bacon Breaky on Sunday morning before Track Day will be able to SMS me on 0411080953 when they arrive.
Breakfast will be @ 7am.

You end up having to search topics for key works you recall you saw in a thread you want to call up.
It's like my Formula 1 car GP Windowlicker thread today, within 3 or 4 posts it had degraded to women and had nothing to do with the original topic.

Sounds like fun. I'm easy going. I'll do laps with the big boys but it will be my daughters first time on the track so we'll be going down in the afternoon to do laps without the full size motards. That would scare her way too much. If she gets the hang of it and is loving it, maybe she'll stick around for the evening. Most likely I'll just take her home when the evening sessions start and I'll come back for that under lights on my 125.

As James will be on the 125 mini motard,
We would prefer you to be riding a mini motard if it is small, but will not exclude you at all.
If you have an interest and wanna ride with the inherent dangers of us and you at the same time no problems.
James has had previous road racing experience and is not phased by larger bikes sweeping past and understands track use.
So long as you feel confident, and dont alway look around as a bike comes up behind you, you hold your line, and not make any sudden changes of direction in front of an overtaking bike,
You can ride with us Redline...
Well, being extremely late in reading this thread im wondering if the numbers have to be exact, or do you just need roughies?
I'll make an appearance on Saturday arvo to say gday and watch the session, but sundays looking a little unlikely. I doubt the 750 would be to good on a go kart track! Might be funny though.

There is some more detail on the other thread specific to saturday Night Sessions.
All the same,
It is shaping up to be a good relaxed weekend at TT.
Most stuff is sorted, and all we really need now is good weather and shitloads of riders/campers.
Once again I can only encourage new to motarding to come along.
No pressure track riding, reasonable banter after dinner around some readying of bikes for the following day, well until they start drinking harder, and camp inside between Sessions.
Not bad I think.
Thumbs up to Daryl for the foresight to see this can be a good thing,
If practiced by good people ;)

I got a few pics during the day and have stuck them up in a new album, so if you have any yourself please upload them into the same album for posterity

I was well and truely rooted after a few sessions, so it was good to see dave out there with his bling bling new wheels riding from dawn until dusk just to show me what a pussy I was :lol2:
One thing we didn't do on the day was give away the bikemart voucher, as nobody really excelled themselves by going down in a massive shower of sparks and setting fire to themselves ( (c) sibbo ) or highsiding themselves over the fence and into the freestyle area. Sooo, rather than select from slim pickings how about everone votes for their favourite picture (or movie) in the gallery and the most voted rider will get the ticket :D Wait until we have all the photos uploaded from anyone else and then just PM me your selections and I'll compile the list

Further to the other thread about Saturday Nights Session...
Woke up this morning about 6.30 and after sticking the head outta the tent couldn't wait to rip it up again
Sun was trying to come over the horizon and there was not a cloud to be seen.
Outta the fartbag and into some leather ready for the mornings activities.
Bacon and Egg Mc Muzz Muffins off the BBQ and a coffee, check tyres for round on the bottom,
And set out after Dave who was already out circulating @ 8.45am.
Good on you Dave.
By the way mate, Nice wheels :D
Didnt take the SA fellas long to get themselves a slice of TT daylight pie,
And were very fast all day.
Chris hunted me like a fly on shit only to be denied by an old man wobbling all over the track and stealing that vital line he needed to pass.
Shanes DRZ is also very fast and a well prepared bike ridden quite skillfully
Its good to see that there is passion in the motard circles inside SA through here, and then have it reinforced with such a talented turnout of riders making the trek for some motard action.
I had to really extract the finger a couple of times to catch the pack and make some passes stick.
I apologise to any folks I may have got a bit close to today,
But rely on the level of skill displayed by all the riders over the weekend.
Why is it when the weather threatens to curb the track days a bit,
Everyone is on fire :roost:
Mark, Kyle and Brett diced around a bit today from what I saw and all were very quick and not easy to catch.
I was a bit worried about Neil being an ex-pat SA boy that he might side with them and run block on the KDX, but was hard to catch too.
Good to see Bomber (Brett) making the track today as well with the silver bodywork on his nice LC4 and punting around just fine.
Shared a few sessions with karts and minimoto/minimotards today, with one pocketbike/minimoto pilot quite fast in amongst us but all the same not really on the pace with the rest of us today.
Having said that, Good to see the minimoto blokes with nuts having a go with the bigger bikes.
I personally dont mind as its a 'checking point' for them understanding the pace we circulate at as a 'control'.
As we use each others ability to guage our own improvement on the track.
I have been at this a while as you are aware and can honestly say that out of our regular attending riders of which most were there today, I see a great improvement in everyones skill level and trackcraft over this series of regular 'Spring Sessions' and 'Summer Screeching' :supz:
There were a few minor setbacks today and not any really outstanding moments that I saw except for Scott nearly being named Neil (kneel) after a wayward kart slammed the tyrewall where he was standing, so I will leave the handing out of the Bike Mart Track Day Voucher to the good Mr Milne.
For those there later this afternoon,
I had a absolute fucking ball this weekend, like to say fuck, use it in my sentences fucking endlessly,
But who really gives a fuck if you are riding your motard around TT with some other blokes with fucking motards who came a fucking long way to ride their bikes like they fucking should be.
Thats all I've got to fucking well say now :butthead: ...

Saturday: The weather was not real nice, i had a very rough time just riding to the track, wind was bloody horrid on the freeway, shows how much i love track time. I arrived about 3.30, track was empty and damp.
Muzz & Tania arrived we set up camp then the others started pulling in. Was itching to get out on the track but was way too wet, most of the guys were on slicks. My brand new distanzias needed wearing in so i went out about 7.00 & tested the track, coupla greasy bits to start off with but once i started getting in some lines the other guys couldn't wait any more. Chris & Andrew on the yz's = bloody fast, Muzz well he's never slow, Joe yeah, now i think of it these guys are all on race bikes, i dont have to worry about why i'm the sweep, somebody has too do it  Also another fella on a very fast drz i couldn't keep up with. Coupla fellas had an off, i had a scare while running the track in reverse, testing out just how far i could lean it over, footpeg bolts & frame dont make very good wheels :D Brendan came out for a few laps on the gsxr, he couldn't wait to get his motard, i think i heard a gear change on the first lap  We sat down for tea & then rain came and called it a night about 10.30. Some of the fellas had a play on one of the carts, looked like a lot of fun if you wanted to go in circles  Much thanks too Daryl for letting us camp also thanks to Muzz & Tania for the tent, mattress & coffees
Sunday: Poking head out of tent, oh what a beautiful day. Egg & bacon muffin Muzz style, coffee, couldn't wait to get on track.
Track was nearly dry by the time we got on it, & the pace was on & got a lot quicker during the day. Mark, Kyle, Brett, Muzz, Murray v2, Jorn, Andrew, Chris & Shane were a very tight bunch on the track, i couldn't hold any of them for long. Brett doesn't seem to mind adding extra scratches to the berg these days :) & Murray v2 wants to help out the poorer nations by buying extra blinker sets :). There were a couple of other riders there who i didn't meet who were also moving along at a nice pace, played cat & mouse with one nearly all day. Neil & myself are pretty much evenly paced although he does gain on me if i stuff up too many corners. Middle of the day was quite busy with track sharing but Daryl's staff were well organized & timed with the p.a. system letting everyone know who & when  There was a couple of spectacular mini bike crashes, even a couple of go karts came together + the one at the top of the hill but the good thing is everybody just jumps up & keeps walking, battered egos can be fixed easier than bones. Daryl was out on the track a few times sharing the track with us on a couple of different bikes later in the day. I packed up & headed off home about 3.30, by the time i hit Seymour i'd lost feeling in my legs, when i got home i pretty much fell off my bike, staggered inside & fell asleep at the kitchen table
Thank you all for a great weekend, to the fellas from Adelaide  wonderful too see you guys, thanks to Muzz & Tania for breakfast, thanks to Mark for lunch thanks to everyone for making it an enjoyable weekend.
Thanks Neil for the new avatar :D
I'm stiff & sore & now i have to go to work, 'fuck' i love track days :D

Nice write-ups Neil, Muzz & Dave! Yesterday was a great day, I left just before 3pm, but was pretty well nackered by then anyway, it was great company, great riding, great food and great photo's.
Oh and Jorn let me try out his 525, I thought I would just do a couple of laps and return it kindly to its rightfull owner.... sorry Jorn, I just couldnt bring myself to stop riding the baby, I looked again and the last lap board was up
The power is superb on the 525, it pulls like a boing when you open it up, and the power delivery is sooooooo smooth compared to my smoker. I'm sold, gota have one!
Thanks Jorn, hope your foot is ok today.

I did have the opportunity to be on the track with Muzz V2 when he was aboard Jorns rocketship.
Looked very comfortable for being on an unfamiliar bike, setup wise, and
had to step up the pace to keep with him ;)
So 300 EXC out and 525 EXC/560SMR in soon in Murrays garage soon I think.
Can you get the 560SMR road registered here in Aus?

Thanks for a good evening on saturday-------shame we had to go early but we didn't get home to eat till nearly midnight as it was. I can't believe the cultural wasteland that is Melbournes East. We couldn't find anywhere to eat other than the big American franchises which we avoid (a) for his health (b) for my palate. Searched Morang to Eltham to Dandenong before hitting the hammer for home. I know Melbourne itself fabulous culture & food but not west of Richmond ! Endless suburban ghettos seved by Ronald.....ugh
.
Pulled the RMZ out in morning for MX at Rosebud and had a great day.
He won both the 450 and 250 A grade classes on his 250.
Bit of motard practise (and a little spin out) must've helped.
Anybody want a free rear wet tyre ( loads left on right hand side)?

No worries Zulu.
Was good to see the bike get a nice work out. Im still tryin to get confidence up on a tight track.
Thanks to all those who assisted in setting up my suspension, pitty bout only getting in half a lap before doin my ankle, then riding quite cautiously. The slide on my side in the morning didnt really help the confidence.
Ankles doin alright -pretty swollen, trying to "walk like a man" - (Sibbo). Proving difficult.
Thanks for another great day out guys. Lookin forward to the next ones.
Cheers,
Jorn

I'll add my own personal little piece like this.
Firstly thankyou and congrats to the SA guys, Andrew and family, Chris, Shane and Ben for making the trek over and letting me ride all your bikes, being a WR450, YZ450, DRZ400SM(like mine but with balls) respectively and to Scott for letting me ride his ex factory YZ450(#42, the bike built for Shannon Johnson b4 he got the offer to ride for Kwaka Supersports) very powerful 450, an awesome piece of kit.
Other than the above being the highlights it was another awesome day with a large group of bikes out on the track at the one time.
In saying this I propose that we bring our regular meets back to a monthly basis so we can have more attendees, save more cash for more mods and better bikes and generally have bigger gatherings. Doing this might also attract some more of the Victorian SM racing community for them to test and get in some extra practice and allow us in the future to have a dedicated track day for SM's only instead of sharing with the others.
If we were to do this we'll try to do a road ride in between meets as more of a social thing and a chance to get out and ride.
Anyway my $0.02 worth.
Cheers Markee
Sound like you guys had a great time but where's the incriminating night-time photos!?

That's not a bad point Mark, its true that our best turn outs have been been after a bit of a break. Having them every 2 weeks might make it harder for people to work out when to turn up if they can't commit to it regularly, so maybe a monthly format would end up with more people than 2 fortnightly days combined because of the scheduling difficulties.
I guess we could always run a 'promoted' track day every month and more informal practice days every couple for the desperadoes ;)
What do people think?

Nice picture again of you there Dave.
Good advertisement and reinforcement for those wondering about whether the Distanzias are much chop in the grip stakes.
As you can plainly see they even grip on the sidewalls if you have the skill.
We rest our case your Honour ;)
I didnt think Dave had that much clearance! You sure you went falling over?
Was great to meet everyone saturday night. I hope next time i can turn up 130kg lighter.

I'm easy with any arrangement like that.
We need to keep Daryl in the loop though as to what we decide to do.
Its only fair as I would suggest he would be factoring a % of our attendance into budgeting figures.
Dirt section needs further discussion and only seriously interested members need apply for input as they too will be required to do some of the labour and background work that needs to be done.
We have a much better chance of attracting the racers with a more 'Practice' orientated track layout, IMO :)

Agree too, although another option would be every 3 weeks instead of 2, it means we can have a big one every 6 weeks for those that cant make every month.
