 Okay Im new to motards aswell. I havnt seen much of it on tv but just what is the go with sliding? I ride a ktm 640 sm 2001 with the Pirelli super moto tyres- Im not a pansy , I slide it on gravel or when the tyres are dusty, and Im finding that on clean dry bitumen it just sticks like sh#t!!! Or am I just shit?

If you can do it on dirt you just need to go faster and brake harder.
Make shaw you have the techneque correct on dirt first though!

Rick, go and find a carpark close by and practice...
Start running into a corner and braking with only the rear brake. When you can slow the bike quickly without locking the tyre or stalling the bike, your ready to quicken the pace and add front brake bias to remove the weight from the rear and you should feel the bike squirm a bit. Dont panic, keep even pressure on the brakes and continue getting quicker until you feel the bike actually sliding. Take it easy until you get the feel, and keep practising... :D

get ash to have a camera pointed at you, then crash trying to back it out. Well thats not how to back it out, its just what i do!!! also, get a really skinny rear tyer that hs no grip, helped me getting it a bit sideways!
