Looks like I'm heading up to Mt Beauty for the easter weekend 8)

Got some accomodation worked out at the last gasp with a group of friends ... going to trailer the bike up with the car and then have a run around the hills over the 4 days. Sooo, anyone else up around the area that weekend? :D

See ya up there, Neil. We'll be at Bright, but it's only one of the best roads in the country away

Well I just got home from Bright/Mt.Beauty after riding with Neil all day.
Good weather, good clean roads and not too much traffic, just right! :D
Started with a flip flop over the Tawonga Gap to meet Neil in Mt. Beauty at 10am. Bit chilly on the way from Wangaratta to Bright and a bit colder going over the Gap.
Quick cuppa for breaky and off back across the Gap again for a spot of morning tea and then off up Hotham.
Hotham approach was good although a few undulations in the road surface have appeared in the last 3 months. Nothing to worry about but slightly unsettling into the corners, for those not skilled in roadcraft they could see you run wide.
Uneventful up the mountain, coming down I cut a corner and clobbered a white post on the wrong side of the road (was a big corner cut!) and gave my throttle hand a good smarten up to the point I couldn't close my second 2 fingers around the throttle on the way home!
Once down in Bright again we headed back to Neils accommodation at Beauty and was met by Antti and Cal who are up for the weekend too, and of course there was the obligatory storm back across the Gap with them before heading home.
Was a good day all round and I might just go again tomorrow!

Just got home and unloaded the bike from Ash's trailer :D

Good fun weekend! Thanks for coming down for a play in the hills mate, was quite entertaining 8) I usually end up riding in front (I think someone made the mistake of thinking that I know where I'm going on occasion...) so it was excellent to ride behind you on the way down from hotham, especially after we restarted and sat in behind darren on his blade. Was extremely entertaining watching the back end of your bike slithering around as you were backing it into corners just playing around, leaving nice big long sweeping darkies into the corners 8)

And to quote darren on the blade, "I tried not to hold you guys up too much, but I don't think I succeeded!"

And I don't think that 999 riding mobile chicane appreciated being passed as well, which makes it the more worthwhile

Did you ride back around on sunday as well? I should have given you a ring ... we ended up doing mt beauty up to falls creek in the morning and then over the gap and back again for lunch. I ended up driving over the gap though, as I leant the DRZ to chris to have a bit of a play on since his bike is unreg'd and he was pining for some motorised entertainment.

After the ride over he was gesticulating and talking wildly about how much fun he was having

After the ride back he was talking about how much trade-in he's likely to get at mick hone on his TL-S on a DRZ

Nah, Hung around at home Neil on Sunday and yesterday did about 115KM offroad through the gnarlies of Beechworth/Eldorado with Rick while he ran in his new 450...
Being all dirt, I managed to give him a laugh or 2 trying to pull up for corners and track junctions, and then just sailing past in the dust all out of shape and heading for the scrub! :D
We had a wheelstand competition on the way home down the Eldorado Rd, with of course the obligatory wheelstand over the freeway being incorporated as well... So when we put his wheels together, (this week) There will be 2 of us unicycling our way around Wangaratta ...

I dont know how many members have had the opportunity to ride the Alpine Approach Roads, but by next year maybe we will have more regular riders to tackle the thrills of real road motarding...
Cal and Antti are as good as spending their money on 650 Bergers as we speak  and no doubt there will be a Ducati riding poof wondering why he spent so much for so little...
With all the new Factory offerings in more 'user friendly' motard derivitives, it wont take long and there will be a lot more folks buying them. WRF/CRF/Some Europeans are expensive to run as we all know and that is a major factor when purchasing as is the wheel purchase given cost/advantage...

Me, I'd rather convert the sportbike riders through shame of being blown by a WRF250 with 31750KM on the rings!...Fags
