What do you guys think about a big season opener to start the year off well?
I was going to suggest that we organise a dirt section before we start riding again, as no one wants to stop riding on a track day ;) .
Maybe we can canvas a few more stores and get a few more names etc.
Just a thought.

I am keen to speak to Daryl again before we start another round of
Motard Track Days regularly, like this year has been.
Emphasis will be on the availability of a night session say of 2-3 hours duration, run very strictly.
The idea is to have fellas out for a session first up for 30 minutes to allow everyone to get used to the deteriorating light and the artificial lighting as it comes on,
and then put one bike on the track at a time after that
and time you properly off the balcony,
to allow us the chance to group you before the next track day opener and save so much fucking around and people getting confused.
I can get my mate to make us up some little stickers for the track days that designate the group you are allocated and from then on you will also have a GPTC registration number as well allocated on that pre opener evening..
If you cant/dont come to the pre opener lap timing,
You will be allocated by what the general consensus of the regulars is, when you do attend later.
Stay tuned for details...

Is it possible to make is a Friday/Saturday otherwise it would count me out.

Muzzard
18-12-2006, 11:25 PM
Nope.
We want the short access on an evening that doesnt have something else on, Most likely Monday/Tuesday which is already reserved there for Corporate nights unless there is no booking.,
suits the Corporate entities from Ringwood better too.

By mid January fruit picking will be under way & my availability will be sketchy, as with Flash, could maybe make it a Friday night with a camp or someone willing to put me up for the night. I try to keep my Saturdays free but it doesn't always work that way during the season

Ok,
Lets modify the game plan a bit and say for instance I organise an evening timing session on a Friday night and the Track Days opener the next day with camping onsite on the Friday, and we truck in some pizzas for dinner with Neils laptop ;)
How many of you would make the effort?

At least then I get a chance to be fresh in the morning as I'm getting old you bastards cause I'm sore all over now...

Now i'd be in that for sure :D :D , do you think the rear tyre will hold out that long :D :D

There would be a charge for the Friday night timing session and camping/dinner as an inclusive, with the following track day fee for the Saturday..
I think that to charge a track fee on a rider basis of $20 for the evening session would be be fair although Daryl has to also be renumerated for the amenities we are/would be using.
So I suggest a charge of an addition $15 for the camping and pizza would be also appropriate.
You would be required to bring everything else yourself apart from what Daryl could help you with until the Cafe closed.

Basically you would be looking at a fee of $70 to be part of both the Friday night timing session and the pizza after, the camping, and the track day next day. :D

Need to know numbers right now so I can talk to Daryl this week.
All charges need to be also confirmed with Daryl too,
and are only suggestions...

Theres 575 other registered users here.
Its already going to want to be around the 13/20th anyway wouldnt you already assume.
Like I said if you want to come just say so so I can at
least discuss the possibility with Daryl first...

Fifty cent piece?

Camping without guns is not camping and camping without huge amounts of booze in not camping. Track day the next day means no booze the night before, so camping would be hard to manage.

SOunds like a great idea guys, hopfully I will still have my bike. I if I do I would be more then likely a show, as I leave Brissie on the 4th of Jan!
Any way good luck with it its good to here that you are attracting more interest as well as offering so many opurtunities to get out on the track!!

All going well I will be keeping the DRZ, just depends on finances with the new race car we have bought.

Cheers

Sounds pretty good. I'm pretty low on the ole camping gear except for a sleeping bag though.

I vote for Sat 13 Jan. I know I already have that sat off. Won't be another day off around then for a while I bet.

Muzzard
19-12-2006, 11:16 PM
I have a good range of stuff for camping so dont stress Angus.
You have a bike and a sleeping bag what else do you need but a beer, a pizza, and a 'ground sheet' (Girl for you civvies)
I will hopefully see Daryl this week in Melbourne and discuss the whole plan with him...

In regards to the Camping and Timing Weekend,
It will have to wait for a bit until we get sufficient numbers to justify the expense of the site hire for the advantage of sole use for motards.
If there gets to be sufficent numbers getting along early in the new season then I may look at it then.
With shaky numbers it wont fly...

All brakes on!
We are not moving forward just yet and will be waiting now until Scott builds the enduro loop and then we will match up to that and build entry/exits and theres your new dirt section.
Once again takes the headfuck out for me.
No Camping/Timing Weekend either,
Too expensive for the amount that turn up.
End of thread....
