View Full Version : Excel 4.25 inch rim
After upgrading to a 5 inch rim i have a spare used 4.25 inch, 36 spoke, silver, excel rim for sale. I'll take a picture tonight and see if it has any scratches.
No idea what they're worth.
Offers?

I dont think they are worth much, cos who wants a little teeny weeny 4.25? Cos 5's are the new fashion, leading to 5.5.
But I might be wrong and be worth heaps, I hope I am for your sake.

I would be asking somewhere around $250 for a non-scratched secondhandy Tom.
$200 if it has a few...

The full local RRP on a 4.25 was $430 for an anodised excel last time I checked

4.25 isnt that small, work fine for me, at least you dont end up with big chunks outta tires and rims...

hey tom,
I may be interested, anyone know if I could lace this too the rear hub of my klx? then just relace the rear wheel as its a 17" on the rear and put it on the front?
thats if I don't sell the bike ofcourse.......... hehe must keep...
Thumpn,
Just count up your spokes, if you've got 36 spokes then it'll fit. You will need to buy a short spoke kit for both wheels though.
It's on Ebay now, auction finishes tomorrow, so if you want it let me know tonight and i'll cancel the auction.
Tom.

Tom, ill have a check on the spokes, will I need to run shorter spokes on it even if I already have a 17" on the rear? what are these worth?
i'll let you know soon, after I talk to the mrs too..... hehehe
Also, would you be availiable too meet me somewhere too pick it up as i'm from the gong?
Yeah, you can pick them up, thats fine.
Not sure if the stock spokes will work but if you give the excel importer a call he should be able to help you, it will depend on if the spoke nut is the right shape, but you should be right (if you know what i mean?). You'll definately need shorter spokes for the front though.
Muzz might be able to help you out with a price for them, i'd be guessing at about $100-$150 for a set?
i heard u can use the longer spokes on dirt rims they just have to be cut etc
