Cameron Park at Newcastle hosted the final round of the NSW East Coast Supermoto Championship on the weekend, where Motorex KTM rider Stuart Bennett once again stamped his authority on the series to claim his third consecutive win in the All Powers and S2 - 450cc class.

The three round Championship visited Eastern Creek, Oran Park and Newcastle, with Bennett and Motorex KTM finishing on the podium at every round.

Commenting on his achievement Bennett said, “I’m stoked to come away with my third win in both the All Powers and S2 class for Motorex KTM. The first round at Eastern Creek saw a few challenges with some get offs on the dirt section but I was still on the podium.

“I started to improve come round two at Oran Park, winning the S2 class but the All Powers class was interrupted with mother nature blowing a gale around us, which called off remaining races.

“I made my mark on the final round at Newcastle. In the S2 class, I qualified first on the KTM 450 SMR by 2.1 seconds faster than anyone else and increased my fastest time by 0.5 seconds come the main event.

“I had little competition in both the All Powers and S2 class but my former team mate Graham Cheney kept me honest. Every now and then he would come close but I was determined that nobody would be passing me for the top honours.

“I’m pleased to finish the year on a high for Motorex KTM as I wrap up a seven year partnership. Next season for the start of the Australian National Championship I will be moving to Husqvarna to contend the S1 class. It’s been a great partnership with all the team at KTM and I’m sure our paths will cross again.”

Whilst riding for Motorex KTM, Stuart Bennett achieved six Australian National Championships and was never worse than second in any national event, he also claimed numerous state based championship events.

Jeff Leisk, KTM Australia, General Manager says Bennett was a true asset to KTM Australia’s breakthrough in the sport of Supermoto.

“KTM has become a class leader in the sport of Supermoto, leading the market both on and off the race track, said Leisk.

“All the team at KTM wish Bennett the best of luck in his future endeavours and look forward to continuing our long term friendship.
