The ankle is getting better, slowly! and the bike seems fine (from the latter little off)

Here is a vid of the above photo, I hope you like it. It did not feel that sideways, it just felt like the back wheel was moving around abit.

Anyone up for a ride at broadmeadows MX park???

Sibbo

I would like to ride at broadmeadows MX park, cos Frankston gets soo rough by the end of the day and i am too crap to ride it.

I cant do anthing this weekend 26-27, but the one after 5-6 of March would be spot on. Sat or sun is cool for me, so lets set a date and i will be there.

what time does broadmeadows open?

I'm going to be working on the weekend for the next few weeks so I wont be able to go that soon but I'm keen as hell to try and get some strength back in the arms so I can do more than 2 laps at a time!!
Broadmeadows opens at 10. I try to get there a 930 so by the time I pay my entry fee and go my gear on etc. I can start riding and I usually have the track to myself for half an hour or so!!

Is this for motards too or dont you blokes like eating 4 stroke roost!
Sibbo, I have been to your esteemed track many years ago and the sand was thick on then not to mention the velocity stoppers in the straights. I used to ride there during the early 80's just after the track opened. I have in fact broken both my legs on that track!...5 weeks apart!
Broady has a bit more clay in the base so it might be a better days riding so long as its not too dry...

Motards would go well at broady, it's usually very hard and can even have a rubber line around it.

I have seen the blue groove that develops there and that is why I ask for motards too... Do we need memberships to ride once. What weekend would you be wanting to go?...I need some notice as I'm spread pretty thin on again for a while...

Last time I was there it was $30 for the day, no membership required. I'm not sure on a day yet but I'll definitely be in it if I can. I'll take the motard if there is others going.
My YZ needs a sevice on the suspension, I get fore arm pump within a lap on it

i get fore arm pump within seconds of riding and my bike is almost band new!!???mabey i got a crap bike....or is it something to do with the rider??

well people, how much time do you all need to organise a ride at broady, cos i will prob go this sat, then not untill april. So how does a months notice sound?

Broady mx track, 9.30am sat 2nd april. motards/mx/enduro/trail/mini/and even slow, heavy, expensive, hard starting 4 strokes

Sounds good to me Sibbo unless I'm O/S at the time.
Forearm pump is caused by the rider, relax your grip on the bars. You dont need to hold on for dear life... Just lightly grip the bars, they should move in your hands a small amount. The key to quick, enjoyable, non-taxing riding is in the RELAX bit...
How fast do you wear out grips/gloves?...I still have the same grips after 26000KMS and 2 years. That is an indicator that relaxing is not taxing! ;)

Correct grip (door handle) and arm position (elbows up) also can contribute. The other thing is your suspension plays a big part also. If you get it serviced and valved it will make a big difference. I have ridden my 125 for 15 hard laps (standard valving and in need of service) around broady then hopped on my mates 250 (2 stroke) and his bike is set up for his weight (about the same as mine) and It was much better on my arms. I could go a lot longer on his bike and it was a lot faster being a 250.
I think valving costs about $400 - $600.
Remember that when your in the air let go and relaxe the grip even if you have to let go of the bars all together. :D

Sounds good to me. I'm up for the 2nd.

G.P this weekend for me.

Start a new post Sibbo to get the names. A month is plenty of time to get the dirt tyres back on!

Hey Muzz
I'm on the 3rd set of grips on the YZ which wouldn't have the same amount of time on it as my Husky yet I'm still on the first set on the Husky :?

Muzz, im still on my first set of grips and the gloves seem OK. Dont know how many K's. but i can tell you how many liters of juice i have used.

I know you are not meant to hang on for dear life and just use the bars for steering, but i am too out of control and am just trying to stop the bike riding me. i try as hard as possible to use my legs, but the arms still die.

practice should make it better.

Get arm pump riding motard? :?

Tis a strange thing, but I get arm pump worse racing my Motard than I ever did riding enduro's?

I think its got a lot to do with the short circuit track and the amount of man-handling you need to do to get the back end sliding nicely?

Or perhaps the fact that I'm now an old un-fit fart has something to do with it
