Fresh off the mailing list;

Great news! we have finally received the final piece of the puzzle to allow track licencing - the Council DA.

This will take at least 4 weeks to process before we have that licence, so in the meantime, we will run a Recreational Ride Day similar to the last event at Port Macquarie.

We have been busy upgrading the crossover sections from dirt to tar so this will be much better than last time.

PORT MACQUARIE KARTING CLUB - PACIFIC PARK - http://www.portmacquariekartclub.com.au/ (http://www.portmacquariekartclub.com.au/)

This is an MNSW sanctioned event, and as such, is run according to the regulations of MNSW permit - there will be no racing.
We need assistance from a level 2 official to attend the event/s - if you can help - please call me asap.
Camping is available at the track - hot showers, power and lighting - $10 per head.
Port Macquarie is a 15min drive away for those who prefer motel accommodation.
Riding fees are $100 per day for seniors, $80 for Juniors.
We will be using the track for two days.

You can run Saturday only, Sunday only - or both days.
All riders must be a financial member of NSWSMR - you can join on the day (form attached).
If we do two days, track direction will be reversed on day two, if only one day, track direction will be reversed in the afternoon.
We will accept road registered motards (like we do for ride days) and one day licences will be available.
We should be able to accept junior road race machines (tar only) subject to numbers. (need at least 6) please call for confirmation asap.
We will run alternate tar only then tar/ dirt sessions.
Quads will be welcome.
For the motard bikes, peg sliders, barkbusters, catch cans and lock wiring is mandatory, no exceptions - for guidance in these areas, we are working on a "How To" article for sliders and lock wiring, catch cans, etc on www.nswsmr.com.au (http://www.supermotoaus.com/www.nswsmr.com.au) - please keep a check on the website for updates.
Junior road race machines will adhere to their relevant GCR's.

Bikes allowed:
Registered or race prepared Supermoto type bikes from 125cc 2 stroke to unlimited 4 stroke capacity.
Junior road race bikes as per GCR's.

Lock wiring is easy, yet to confirm if I will be there but if so will have all the tools to do so and can lend a hand.
will know if I will be there by this weekend.

The more the merrier! Hopefully the weather is nice on BOTH days. Also more people riding would be good, although open sessions from 9am-5pm wasn't bad either :P

what will happen if its looking like rain?

Last time we still rode in the rain. We tried the dirt or mud section but it was a bit out of control so we changed to ride the full circuit. I think it will be on "Rain, Hail or Shine". I'm hoping for Shine.
Me and Hectic will be there both days.

You ride in the rain! Beau ripped it up on slicks haha, only one out there for most of saturday whilst it rained.

Weatherzone forecast makes mention of 90% chance of 40-80mm, that's not rain! that's an ocean. Hopefully the dartboard forecast changes a bit between now and next weekend.

damit. Fitted slicks already. Will there be tyre changing facitices there?
Also, did you get my email Steve?

I think the only tyre changing facility would be a retail store in Port Mac on Saturday. But that is just my opinion.

The best you'll get at the track is someone with tyre irons. Not pretty, but effective. The other option is a 2nd set of wheels with wets already fitted.

Yeah Neill you should have my reply now. BTW since this is a Ride Day and not a Race, we will not be hammering people for lock wiring. The important stuff is the sliders and catch bottles. We will be fairly easy going with the catch bottles - yu can use an old coke bottl or red bull can for instance.
Look forward to seeing you all there.

I know its a long shot but does anyone have a spare set of tyre warmers they would be willing to lend/share for this event?

Also what is power like there Stevo, when we hired karts there some time ago there was none.

Daws
23-01-2012, 03:35 PM
I have a spare set of SXV wheels you can buy and save your stockers for wets. Standard rear and the front is a 16.5 rim laced to the standard hub. $650 plus post.

Cheers Daws, will keep you in mind for the future but not in the budget this month sorry.

Stevo

There are power poles all around the pit area these days Neill, no worries there. Also not so critical for tyre warmers on ride days coz you get more laps, so if you don't score a set it's not the end of the world.

picked up one of these today

hope I can lever off the bead breaker instead of the rim to get the tyre off.

Due to epic rainfall this event is CANCELLED.

Hi All,

Please see message below, sent to MNSW to cancel this weekend's Ride Days.

Really sorry to do this, but on local advice, we felt it would be too much risk for people to travel to and from the circuit, there may also be local emergencies for residents in the area.

Not to mention value for money for you, the riders.

We still have the licence application pending, we will continue with that and should shortly have access to this fantastic track.

I will keep you informed of upcoming ride and race dates as soon as possible.

Regards,

Steve. (Quote below).

[Hi Belinda,

Due to the exceptionally bad weather and flood alerts in NSW Mid North Coast, we have decided we should cancel this weekend's Recreational Ride Day at Pacific Park, Port Macquarie dated 28 + 29 Jan.

Since it will require a new application, track inspection, and licence that will most likely take 6 weeks, we have also decided to revert to continuing with the full racing licence application already in place for 2011 - 2012. This application is almost completed, pending receipt of the local Council DA which is coming.

I understand we will also need to submit another racing licence application for the period June 2012 - 2013 and will do so very soon.

Thanks for your help.

Best Regards,
Steve Coppock.
