hey guys.
just joined about 4 minutes and 34 seconds ago... lol
have ridden motox since i was 10.. but always had my thoughts about SM bikes and how sick they look.
am now 23 and on my bike L's on a CBR250RR Tyga conversion.
But however... i did have my sportsbike interested too.. but it's obviously not strong enough i found for me to be happy with what i currently got and also i kind of regret getting this bike instead of going forward with buying a SM.
Anyway im going to sell my cibby soon as im sick of it and how different the weight is compared to myself being so used to offroad bikes weight.
just in need of saving as i do have my other interest which is my car too..
my job don't pay enough! for all the toys i want i can always seem to find more but my car and motard are the main thing... but yet to buy a motard after i sell cibby n save a little for motard.

Welcome mate... I am going to go against the grain here but get yourself 6-7k and grab yourself a SXV550 or a Berg 650... Plenty of fun, you won't really care that your on LAMS.

thanks bud,
i plan on saving after i get car organised as it needs a few things fixed.
after i fix it and save 2k and sell cibby i most likely will be having a look at SXV and BERG's but have a soft spot for KTM and SUZI:p

I'm a noob and I have a 450exc which i swap between Dirt and Motard! Ideally I'd have a tard and a mx bike but this will have to do for now, can't afford both on my coin! But I'm on L's and it's sooooo much fun, you'll love it mate!

DRZ-SM will require too many $$ for you to be happy with it, other Jap or Euro trash it is.:D

DRZ $8k new.
Manual says oil change every 3000km
Oil filter every second oil change
Valve clearance check 24000km
Power is proportional to maintenance and reliability.
A DRZ can do anything quite well but nothing very well.
If you want to beat Mark on a track get something else.
If you want to do some commuting, some trail riding, some track, some hooning then consider a DRZ.
But try one first, stock they are really lacking in power (34hp).
If you get a good track bike then you will probably need another bike.
PS: before you guys bet excited, I change my oil every 1000km.

Poo-carts are awesome bikes if you know how to ride, they constantly embarrass guys on 'better' bikes, and are much less maintenance than most.
If you want the ultimate though, get a 300 2 stroke.

There really is nothing like that feeling of emptiness when you pull onto the straight and the guy in front just rides away from you and you've already got the throttle wide open.

Thats funny, coz I like the feeling you get when you do the same or better laptimes as someone even though they blitz you on the straight:p

I was not alluding to skill levels just hp!
nb. Liebs and I at Tailem Bend were within .5 sec per lap of each other but my top speed was 150 and his was only 130!

If you have been riding MX since you were 10 the DRZ wont satisfy your needs... the WR/CRF-X/Kato 450's would feel right at home for you after a few mods.... shit to ride on the road compared to the DRZ tho...

im fine with how bad it is when it comes to comfort on the road... as my cbr250 is stiff as a brick.... also car has coilovers too so either transport i have is either bang bang or slight boing boing lol...
you've all flooded me with what bikes to get! lol. I've mostly had suzuki's all my life on dirt except for when i was in 60-65's class.
started as :
DS80, KX60, RM80, RM250
anyway besides that, someone recommended a 2stroke? i do love my 2 strokes but the thing im worried about is oil change for them. As it's more frequent then 4 stroke :(
if i shouldn't get DR then ill look more towards a KTM.
Also ill post some pics of my rides up soon for all you to geez at lol.

**cough** 690smc **cough**
In all seriousness, I've seen guys raping sports bikes on XR400M's... You really can have some serious fun on motards mate, regardless of power. My Kato has double the power of a DRZ, but that doesn't make it faster .... (as proven on my last track day)

I've got a WR300 and my gear oil lasts twice as long as the oil in my old husky 450's, and because I'm usning Nulon ATF at $40 for 4 litres instead of Motul 300V at $70 for 2 litres, I'm saving about $135 every 1000km, minus the cost of maybe 2litres of 2T oil in that many km.
SM (on the road)isn't the same as MX when it comes to maintenance, less heat and less contaminants.

hey guys so here's a few pics of my toys...
start off with my cbr2fiddy not a fan of the paint... previous owner has stacked it on the other side but can be resprayed but havent bothered as i basically just bought it as a cheapo to get around on and to go to work on.

and heres my Silvia.. just bought it a few months ago and haven't done much to it yet. Before this car i had a toyota supra which was auto and kind of got sick of it... also wanted to learn manual. I have some wide offsets for it but its just sitting in my driveway being fixed here and there as few things need cleaning up... need to find some C Spanners for the BC coilovers so i can raise it since last owner lost them.
wont go to much into detail as this is a bike forum lol.

besides the above.. have been looking around bikesales and have been returning to look at SXV theyre pretty nice looking.. would love one but abit too expensive for my income lol. Have been looking at XRM's too which are nice.. so many decisions..

Hey man!
You can get replacement C spanners for Bc's online through thier website! If you get in a major pickle, I come down to Ryde occasionally and you could borrow mine for the day.
