LED tail unit for a 98 Husky

Hi Guys, I'm wanting to go over to an LED unit for my 610SMS - I've hunted around quite a bit and can't seem to find anything that will fit easily. I picked up a generic ype unit today from Brighton Bikes and Bits - it was the closest by far of what they had, but didn't come anywhere near close enough.

So, has anyone modified the enire tail unit on something like this to take a new tail complete with LED? something like http://bikebiz.com.au/enter.html?lang=en-us&target=p3178.html&lmd=38999.701620

On my Husky, the read guard, the brake unit mount, the indicator mounting posts and the numberplate holder are all one moulded unit that is as one with the shiny pretty bit that is the rear cowling. To fit soemthing like that above would require serious use of a hacksaw i suspect...

Any thoughts, tips and tricks to share??

He has a pretty big collection of clear alternatives LED tail lights from the states.

I have my eye on one there to replace my tail light when I chop all the back off and shorten it up a heap.

Personally, I strongly advocate the use of hacksaws, holesaws, drills, angle grinders, hammers and even petrol powered demolition saws for backyard modifications. Mind you, I'm getting around with orange cellophane out of my sons arts and crafts kit in place of a taillight... :)

Its just about the easiest mod you can do. All you need to do is drill out your guard to accept the mounting for the little LED taillight rather than try and mount it on any existing taillight mounting brackets. Hers's my DRZ with one of those small acerbis LED setup jiggery things:
