How do I enter? Can we camp at the circuit? Is there a dirt section? Is a MA Licence avaliable on the day?

Supp regs are here - http://www.motorcyclesportsmen.com.au/2011_WARWICK_CHALLENGE_CUP_REGS.pdf

Racing will be over 2 days for the Supermoto competitors.

The dirt section is still at the basic stage but it seems that people really enjoyed it last time. Plans are afoot to develop the dirt section further but as Morgan Park is busy most weekends, it's hard to schedule time to do the work, the current plan is to have the works completed by the end of this year.

Get those entries in soon, don't wait until the last minute! We need a good turnout to show that Supermoto racing is a viable proposition!

It says in the Supp Regs that first time racers have to be at the track on Friday for evaluation. Is this true? If it is that sucks because it means an 8 hour drive after work on Thursday night.

Locks, give the office a call or email. Mention your level of road riding experience and or trackday experience. This should normally be enough. The paragraph you refer to is mainly aimed at Chalenge cup entrants... Unless of course you just got your license last week and bought the bike yesterday.

Even if you have to do an evaluation on Friday, you won't have to be there for 8am, the club coaches are there all day and there is no reason why they couldn't evaluate you on the last session if need be.

Hello all, the Motorcycle Sportsmen Roadrace Committee want to know what you think about scheduling of the upcoming motard event in October 22,23, at Morgan Park Raceway.

Please, all riders who would be eligible to enter this event, have a think if a one day, one and a half, or two day event, would make it more/less likely for you to enter.

Please email responses to John Newton on jnrace@optusnet.com.au by this Saturday, the 8th October, for officials to have the chance to accommodate.

I have a spare seat and space in my van (2003 Vito if that matters) leaving from Newcastle NSW Friday 21 Oct in the morning if anyone is stuck and would like a lift up to Morgan Park.
Share the driving and a good cd collection would be a bonus...............................
Oh yeah getting home. I guess I will be leaving after the event or maybe 3-4pm sunday, we'll see on the day.
Send me a private message if interested.

Is there any supermoto,s that are entering the Challenge Class as well as the supermoto class. It,s only an extra $ 25 for an extra 6 races. The gearing will be the biggest problem though as the big track you need very tall gearing. I am still undecided. I am not sure if they will let us race with the roadies .

i'm just going to run in the moto class that will be enough action for me!!

the race meeting is called the challenge cup and is like bracket racing so u are put into groups/classes based on ur lap times.

what u are thinking of the challenge class which is part of normal race meetings and is for newbies.

what gearing are people with 5 speeds running?

The format for the Supermoto competitors will be 2 days.

There is nothing in the Supp-regs that says Supermoto bikes can't enter in the Challenge cup races.

Yeah i think to make it value for money i am giong to do the both classes and show the roadies how versatile a supermoto is.
As for gearing i will have to run 14/45 . It will be too tall for the supermoto track especially in the dirt , a small price to pay to be able to get this much track time over 2 days.
I will have to get new tyres though as i will be probably doing 16 session,s.

You recon that gearing will be tall enough for the run down onto the new section Kym?

I may join you yet.............

Yeah i have run this before on the big track and it was fine. I am more worried about my poor clutch on the dirt section.

With the new supermoto track, I ran 13/45.

Hopefully you can join me Matt, you can always drop 1 or 2 races of the big track of coarse if you are getting tired.

I think I might try Metzler,s racetec supermoto tyres for the first time.

I would send in another entry, with $ 25, with a note, to make sure you can enter. You are putting in a huge effort, just getting there, you may as well, get the most out of it. You don,t have to ride all the races. You will love both tracks as they are well suited to supermoto,s.

Entries don,t close until the 14 th so post it tomorrow and your in.

If you are considering entering another class, call or email the office, you have to be entered for the class beforehand. It is not possible to enter another class on the day.

C'mon people, get those entries in! Sporties events at Morgan Park are our best hope of getting regular Supermoto racing in SE Qld and if you keep turning up, we will keep racing :D

Stevo - you know you want to come race :)

Looks like being a decent sized grid for this event with 16 riders. Thanks to all that have entered, there's a few regular names missing for good reasons but it looks like 15-20 riders is a realistic proposition for Supermoto events at Morgan Park.

I'll be out there on the weekend. If anyone has any questions or comments over the course of the weekend and I don't manage to catch-up with you, feel free to hunt me down, just ask the race secretary to find me (Paul Dawson)

Have fun, race hard and stay safe!
