Read the rules though, not every 450 is allowed to enter and race for points and prizes.

Interestingly I had suggested to the promoter that the SM bikes be started in a combined grid with the FX125 and FX400's but was told that these (125/400) riders were concerned that the riding style of the SM guys could be dangerous for them in the corners.
(I think they hadn't even watched the supermono riders)
The road racers thought that the SM guys were still practising the motard style of backing in and cornering with the footdown - its interesting to note that at earlier rounds some guys were, but now all have found that this = too slow a corner speeds and have adopted the true road race style of feet on the pegs and body off the side of the seat.
The worriers didn't win anyway as the fastest SM guys had caught them and passed them by the race end anyway - the way they were carving through the 125's and 400's to me meant that the SM front runners would have been close to an overall podium finish if started together with the others.
Of real interest to me too was that I believe the top group of SM riders put on the closest racing of any class of the day.
John, this is exactly the same as those of us who have road-raced motards have experienced. Firstly the other riders complain because they don't like riding with us even though we take the same lines. I have also heard riders [on larger bikes] complain that the motards come flying past when they are on the brakes and park it in the corner or tip in really late.
Most people find out pretty quickly that foot-out is not the way to get around a fast road-race track, you still see it occasionally but road-race style is pretty much the best way to go fast.
Before we got enough entries for our own class, we used to race with a class called New-era which is for older sportsbikes, (10+ years old) Ducati 916s, Fireblades etc... In that class, there were never any sportsbikes on the podium at Morgan Park ;)

John this is an awesome series. I cant recommend it highly enough to everybody. All six races i diced with Ryan & Hay and i think Hay will have some unreal on board footage when it goes to air on SBS in a few weeks time.
Great competition, close racing, great prizes.....bugger all entry fee. 15 bikes on the grid would be nice to see at Eastern Creek.

Hey Joe...thanks man
I had a Pirelli front and the rear was the tyre from EC which was rooted before racing even started...but the budget was empty so i had to use it. I just couldnt hook up comin down the hill and the boys slowly got away from me.
The rear Dunlop is actually pretty good i reckon.
Nice vid too mate...

Have you ridden ec before? What gearing did you run and lap times did you do? Ec is a sweet track. I'm going to get some track days in and join you boys at some race meetings.

Kato....get the smallest rear sprocket that will fit without hitting the hub (prob 36 or 38) and the biggest front sprocket that will fit (15 or 16) and that will be close.
I ran 15/38 at round 1 and was doing 1.49's. Geronimi ran 16/36 and it was like having another gear down the straight...take nothing away from his talented riding though.
Please come and join the fun mate

Yeah it's only a 300 2 stroke who do I talk to to find out if I can race in this class? + what have you done about a fuel catch can?
Slider50

No they wont let anything else but a 450 four stroke run mate and they are very firm on the rules.

all fluid over flow tubes (carb over flow, engine breather, radiator overflow) need to go into a bottle or container - some guys use small soft drink bottles while others use all sorts of trick containers specially made for the job

Yeah being a 2t I've just got to worry about my carb vent hoses I orded a ktm catch can which mount nicely to the frame but it's not coming till end of October  and I've got a track day on the 19th so I will have to make a temp catch can just trying to think of something good enough for the day. I thought I might use a red bull can and drill 5 holes for the carb hose and one to vent so I don't get a vapor lock in the top use rubber grommets to seal the hoses and mount to the frame somewhere will that pass you think?
Oh FFS, you sell your 450 and this comes along....? How awesome is it? How many donuts do I have to bribe Terry with to have the Husky included?
