Per the title. Did a search and couldn't find much regarding local Brisbane businesses. I've heard a rumour about a guy in Goodna with unbeatbale prices, but no name/number.
Who's got the skinny a sweet tyre deals?
This is for a road tard, so looking at bt016/pp 2ct/pp pure/Q2 etc.
Oh, and who changes their own tyres? Never done it myself, but know people who do. Thinking of giving it a go.
Also interested in secondhand tyres. I've spoken to a couple shops but most say any decent ones get snapped up by the employees.
Thanks in advance.

I've heard "tires for bikes" in albian a pretty good. I haven't bought anything off them yet cause I haven't need to yet but I've have gone in there and they are pretty nice staff and have a shit load stock and heaps of popular brands to choose from. Plus they fit and balance for free too I'm pretty sure
The guy in Goodna is Mick and trades as Motor trade machinists, be warned tho he likes a chat. ;)
I bought my last set from Mixd on here and got a fantastic deal and fitted them at Bandys place last weekend.
Cheers brian

Order new rims and tyres (fitted)... Easy... I get around 2 years out of a set of tyres at the moment (but the dining room doesn't punish them)

It's funny that I've heard this from multiple sources.
ash's spoked wheels

Bit of both - right now my rear bt003 is getting a little sub-legal due to all the commuting. Feeling out the local shops for costs of tyres and of fitting. I like to set threads like this up as a help/info repository for all the new folks to be able to find good info fast (and for my reference back later).
I want to extend my skillset in all things motorcycle, and changing tyres seems like a good place to start, in that it has the possibility to save me some money (maybe). Still, I'm lazy at heart, so its always a toss up between time, money and effort.
Thanks everyone.

Whats Hot...Con at Bris Moto Tyres at Slacks Creek - Always does good deals, no bullsh*t. Best in Brisbane! Oxturtle and Bonegraft you know the score!
Whats Not - Tyres for Bikes Albion. They are a bunch of arrogent C*nts. I have had and know of more than half a dozen bad experiences with them, I would like to advise anyone who has a bike to avoid them like the plague!

Hi all - new to the forum but thought I'd share my expirence. I see some positive and also VERY negative feedback re: Tyres For Bikes at Albion. For those with negative experiences, what's the problem? I have had tyres fitted by Tyres For Bikes once before, and found the advice and service to be of a very high standard. I'm now due for some new rubber and the first place I will head is back to where I know I will get the right information, a good price and service like it should be. Should I not go back there? What went so wrong with your experience that should make me "avoid them like the plague"? Thanks!

I'm sorry you're so narrow minded. I have never had a problem with the service, advice and treatment by this establishment. It's ok for you to form an opinion. At the end of the day I wanted guidance but all I get is a response like yours. Thanks! Maybe if you really had a problem, you'd let the "arrogant c*nts" know so maybe they can work on being less "arrogant" and more helpful to you!

Thank you for your welcome.......
Yes - I'm new. Getting involved in the motard scene did interest me. But after the schalacking you've dished out, I'm not so sure I'd bother! Why would I want to get be involved with a group who seemingly crucify those in the industry. We all have a common interest. C'mon.... Being female and trying to fit into the "boys" group is a tough gig. I really believed it couldn't be this hard. I'm just trying to get the "right" guidance and good advice. If someone has a problem, they should be open enough to share what the problem was. It might save me from making a mistake? Based on previous experience, I would be more than happy to return to a place where I know honest advice is provided - unlike the bullshit I've experienced on here!
Chill out people, try and keep the personal attacks out of it.
R1girl, welcome to SupermotoAus, feel free to introduce yourself and have a look around, there's plenty of useful Motard information on here.
As for Tyres For Bikes, I have had great service from them and they are a supporter of The Motorcycle Sportsmen of Qld, which is my club. Based on my experience, I would recommend them but I understand other people's experiences may differ.
some people have different expectations from tyre shops, but basically they fit tyres and give u a decent price. u dont need to fall in love with the tyre changer. i am bit suss on people rocking in here out of no where like R1girl & k9gix but what do u expect when u bag out a well known and regarding shop in a major city.
never had an issue with that shop for what its worth
ah dur thats wat i meant, u bag out a well known shop and people are bound to sign up and stick up for it. if its been mentioned on this site google will pick it and this place gets tons of hits

I myself have been a customer of Tyres 4 Bikes for over 9 years. Every bike I have owned, has had tyres fitted from Tyres 4 Bikes. I keep going back because:-
I get unbiased advice
Tyres suited to my bikes and riding style
Professional service
They support the riding and racing community
My last trophy I won at the Yamaha Australian Supermono Championships was in part due to the advice and fitment of tyres from Dave at Tyres 4 Bikes.
They also support the Motorcycle Sportsmen Club, the primary supermoto club in Sth East QLD. The yellow van is a regular recovery vehicle at Morgan Park, they do this for free to support the sport, we are all so passionate about.
Whilst this is my opinion, I know Dave would do his utmost to resolve any negative customer experiences. Give Dave a call on 3262 4377

If people have bad experiences or a problem, have they taken it up with the business concerned before posting on a public forum?
Be careful what you say, I've been a member of a forum that was sued due to what was posted. Truth or not, once it gets to the point of lawyers being involved and then the courts, well we all know that costs evrybody time and money.

hi dave, when is the mighty GAS GAS coming out for another run
Gidday . I had booked to ride the 3 days at the September meeting (Morgan Park) . So I'm really hanging to ride the next one . As for the GAS GAS it could really do with some more GAS GAS if you know what i mean . But I'm going to dust it off and come out for another skid . Hopefully no more broken toe's or landing in a Meat Ant's nest again .
hahaha how fun is racing, landing on a meat ants nest is awesome

I have used” Tyres for Bikes” for the past 20years. Have tried a few others over the years but keep coming back.
They are bike riders and racers and far from arrogant as other have suggested. But then if you like the fake smile and pandering to your own ego, perhaps you should stay at the multi-franchise dealers!
Most of my riding is on big adventure bikes. All the tyres that they have sold me over the past 5 years or so have been tyres that they have ridden on themselves – not just what others read in the brochure.
So make your own mind up – do you want the bloke that recommends and fits your tyres to be a real bike enthusiast that uses what he sell – try Tyres for Bikes!

Whoa Whoa Whoa....how quickly things can get out of control....should rename the thread:)
As my post caused a great deal of controversy i feel the need, now, to justify my comments.
Who's got the skinny a sweet tyre deals?
I've spoken to a couple shops but most say any decent ones get snapped up by the employees.
Thanks in advance.
No 1 - I was responding to the post by Vagrant. I was giving my OPINION! Harsh or otherwise it is the way i think about the places based on my experiance of riding road and sports bikes in brisbane for the last 10 years.I didnt think that vagrant was asking for people to sugar coat any bad experiances they have had, i thought it was an honest request for advice and i gave my 10c.Isnt that what the base idea behind a forum is....if you want to start censoring it from negative comments you should turn it into a blog where you can just post whatever you want with total control!
Further, one of the reasons i dont like the company is because they "threw out" a near new Pilot Power of mine (approx 90% tread) worth a few hundred dollers when i specifically asked to have it held for a week till i could pick it up. just as Vagrant noted above.
As for Tyres For Bikes, I have had great service from them and they are a supporter of The Motorcycle Sportsmen of Qld, which is my club. Based on my experience, I would recommend them but I understand other people's experiences may differ.
No 2 - I appreciate that other people have good and continuing positive relationships with the company. I also think its good that they support local racing etc. and cheers Daws for understanding 'horses for courses'.

No 3 - Dave, Thanks for the olive branch, i can appreciate that your main focus is your customer service. Im not "very upset" i just dont keep going back to places where i dont get good service and therefore i stand by the comments i made earlier however i feel i am justified by my opinion based on my (and some of my mates) experience with your company over a period of several years. Dont beat yourself up about it. Its just not for me, i prefer going elsewhere.
That being said, i have mates and work mates who still use your business.
Now this post has gotten out of control.
The long and short of it is if you dont want my opinion dont ask! And to be quite frank guys (and r1girl) in the immortal words of Arlo Guthrie "I Dont Want A Pickle.... I Just want to ride my Motosickle".......Arlo Guthrie/Motorcycle Song - YouTube

Im with Danmoto.
Those blokes in Albion gouged the shit out of my Speed Triple rim...
- best they did was knock 20 bucks off the $500 set of tyres just purchased - I simply do not return business to incompetent workshops.
I now buy from slacks creek tyres.
