Who wants to go for a ride and where?

You said what I've been thinking for the last few weeks. It's getting colder of a morning now so I guess the softies won't be in.
I'd like to have a bit of a look north of Syd, and I want a little bit of dirt :D
Only been up that way once with Grant (twistofthewrist) and Chris (dawesy) and it left me wanting more.
Wish there were more twisties around that weren't so "touristy". That's what kills almost every ride for me anyway.

Northern run sounds good to me Lee.
We will pick up a few more goin that way.
Plenty of dirt if you want it and we can find the bends if we look in the right spots. I can also find some accomodation for a Fri night if we need it although saying that a Sun run often suits more people better due to work commitments, the options are also open for a Sat night stop over.

Was also thinking the same thing. Let me know where and when and I'll be there. Mix of dirt trails and twisties sounds perfect.

Only road bike I have is a Hornet (KTM is unregistered). Will I be shunned for that?
I do still however ride like it is a motard.

What if we did the same group ride as last time but to jerrys and back then finish up at the drop zone near Richmond for a play. Nothing too challenging, just some flat trails with some roll over jumps. If we still got spare time maybe up springwood rd and back. Matts brother should know all these areas.

Hey Lads.
Im up for another group ride. Gonzo, I reserve the right to shun you on the day, but seeing as Im the slowest rider of the pack (besides Rob), Ill probably keep it to myself :) Besides, your wheelstands are looking decidedly better than mine!
Im keen to head in whatever direction. Did a trip down to Bundanoon a few weeks ago via The Gong, Mac Pass and Robertson. But its a long way to go for a little bit of twistie stuff. So wherever the gang wants to head, Im in. And my bike loves the cold weather, like most I assume.
Pick a date guys and Ill make sure I can be there.
Cheers

There is a lot more twistie stuff than that near Robertson, we did a southern ride a few months back and made a full day of it with minimal boring sections. Twisty & back roads all day, I just thought it would be good to mix it up a bit and try some new roads. I'd be keen for a southern run again.

Oi.... I'm not slow, i'm weary.... ok so i take care but i like going home to my family and going to work (remember i see a lot of STUFF at work)...
Too many idiots on the road as it is with out adding to it..
( and maybe i've had some incidents including a lil slide)
A lil ride would be good as i haven't had the chance to ride for close to 3 months (yep that long....)...
Obvioulsy i'll have to check out or possible dates due to my shift-work...
good work Prid for ride posting as i'm sure all the shitty wet weather we've been having has probably kept rides at bay...
Oh, and Gonzo, your definately banned cause your wearing a t-shirt and wheeling in allambie (??guessing) is so special... (although, u can actually wheelie so ..)

No, that is clearly a private test circuit.

Yep I am keen.
North would suit me better as I would have to chuck the bike on a trailer to head down there anyway. If someone else from Newcastle wants to go aswell I would be happy to chuck their bike on the trailer.

Are we going to need a vote? North vs South.
How about west from Richmond?
It is a bit more open and once again pretty touristy of a weekend.

I'm doing the Oxley Highway on the weekend of the 21st May if anyone is keen. Probably stay in Walcha or somewhere nearby.
It will be two 6-700km days.

I haven't been thru Mt Irvine in years. Not that I am much chop in the dirt but would love to have a look.
The Oxley also sounds tempting but not possible for me that weekend.

I'm ready to ride! Anybody wanna ride in the next few weeks? I don't mind where. Is the long weekend too dangerous for licenses?
fishpost19
24-05-2011, 12:15 PM
I'm keen too, no way I'm riding over long weekend though, too many idiot tourists on the road, and too risky for my license. Already lost 3 points for a wheelie a few weeks ago, so if I do that again it'll be 6 more with double demerits.

I'm not free till 2nd weekend of June at the earliest. I can always organise work to have a Saturday off for a ride with enough notice depending what suits other guys. Any Sunday is good for me.
Van turned out handy last run we did, although apparently Chris has a new bike, so shouldn't need it again hopefully :D
I'll try and get a mate (dawesy) to bring his DRZ with 21"/18" road tyres. He can ride it pretty hard even though the wheels are the wrong size. Try and get him to come for a ride before he loses his license.

Yeah done. Any Sunday and we will make it happen here or there.
I wonder what bike chris got? I wonder if he's on the 2 stroke wagon.

I'm on a 3 day ride up around Bathurst that weekend, camping on top of the mountain. It's an open-ish event if anyone wants to come, clicky for more info (http://www.twowheels.com.au/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=26433)

Double demerits? That'll be my last month of good behavior license. Scary... I'll still commit but I have to be good. Please remind me to be good...

That was a stupid suggestion of a date. I had just read thru the stuff about the long weekend and still didn't click. What about a fortnight later? 25th/26th?

Hey gang.
I just got fired so I have some free time up my sleeve. Anyone want to go for a blast in between now and the next official ride, please let me know. (while I still have money for fuel).
Oh and any admin can help me change my email address. My password was sent to my work email. No access anymore. I have my iPhone logged in on auto mode but can't work out how to change my email address to a gmail address.

I'm happy for a southern loop similar to the last one, suits me cause it's close, and the whole loop is tard friendly, though I'd still be happy to travel further north if more guys prefer that.
wingy450sm

There are guys travelling from Newcastle aswell so in between I think would be best. Closer to me too. Lol
Roll up boys, Let's make a real weekend of it!!

I am from Newcastle Travis.
Wisemans/St Albans sounds good.
Just bought a new bike. Picking up thursday. If I can get it prepped in time, alright if i join in?
Fairly familiar with wisemans, and keen to go exploring a bit further north.
Also, how many days? Weather isn't looking tops for the weekend

Count me in, I vote south, given the 620 shit itself on the way there last time. North or west is fine too though.
Matt will probably come too, on the naked yamma road bike thingy.
Anywhere any date is good, (except double dem weekends )
Are we firm on a date yet?
Ended up getting a 640, big step over my 200cc 2smoke xD
Everyone else pretty much running 450's?

Marulan sounds like an excellent idea. I haven't been to the track in ages so would be a good excuse to head out again.
Seems like most of the guys that have shown interest in this group ride are keen to do that so lets make it the plan.
Marulan DTC Sun 26th June.

This is a link to MDTC home page to confirm the date for yourselves.
http://www.mdtc.com.au/index.html
It now says that bookings are essential, it didn't used to be,perhaps a sign of their growing popularity.
You can make a booking thru their contact page or just give them a call on 4841 1422.
Pay on the day.
All details on their web page except I don't think that it mentions prices and I forgot to ask when I called.
From memory it was about $110 for the day plus a track license which lasted 12 months for about $30.
See you all there for a good days riding.
