Imagine it on the track.
It weighs next to nothing and is tunable for different power delivery.
Rennsports on 3.5x17 & 4.25x17 Black BEHR with 320mm disc.

Do the 300's run an o-ring head like pukka race bikes or a metalic gasket like a 2s road bike?
SMC690
13-09-2006, 09:52 PM
O-Ring.

So its for a Friday evening after work pickup/Saturday morning, and of course whoever bought it will be told "They can ride it on a track at South Morang that very weekend as it happens"...
Well lets hope so. ;)

They have been told about Saturday..... I did my best. :)
It was a twofiddy after me posting at as a 300. Twas fitted with the red power valve spring, tuned for top end.
Bugger all difference between the two bikes except the fiddy cc's.
The whole situation is a laff in itself and would be good beer talk.... :D

Cool.
Imagine if you could graft another pot on there to make it a 500 twin!!!! My dream motard. Then another 2 for my dream road bike.
When I am mega rich, I am going to have one made. But I will be so old, that I wont want to do wheelies any more.

While talking about smokers, if any of you NSW types are after a street legal smoker, there's a WR250 in the latest Just Bikes on page 175 at a wreckers that is complete and probably just needs a new top end and some TLC. Hard to find so........ :!:
im seriously considering the 300 exc. any idea how reliable it is and how the output would compare to a yz450? i would defiantly sumo it but im still pondering this, or the 525. meh, still looks smick.
and yeah, iv decided to sell my smr. will have piccys and list of mods up soon.
lol, 3 months go's by so quickly.......

what a blast from the past this thread is!!!
Having ridden a KTM300 Motard and a 450 mx'er, the 300 is not a patch on the 450 hp wise. You would have to compare a 250 mx stroker to a 450 to make it close. The 300 is more comparable to a 250mx (4t) bike.
But Zulufoot can give you more details, as I have been talking about his bikes.

I reacon they got them right so they haven't needed to change them!
I have always been happy with mine but I am still surprised that they stayed so long!

Whether they bolt up and are the same are different things Ash.
The 02's have flutes in the rear guard behind the seat and the others dont that different like I said to start with.
Why would Yamaha go to the trouble of bullshitting everyone with new 'redesigned ergonomics and styling' statements with the release of the 04 models..
I will have a look and find you an 2004 MX model range brochure.

No Muzz the 02 DOESN'T have flutes in the real guard The 01 does I have an 02 and there is no flutes and they're the original plastics are still! I have seen 02 and 06 in the flesh side by side, still the same.
