I was talking to the local KTM dealer and he was saying about the new 690 that is soon to be released(07 i think) and i was saying that it looked ugly .He said thats the factory exhaust/mfflers and that he would dump them anyway for some a'market ones.AND then he said he did that on his 950SM and they weighed either 14/19 kgs(sorry cant be specific asi was in shock). Now i dont know what the replacements weigh but i expect he would have made, at least, a reaonable weight saving and we all know that ends up being an extra perf. gain.

Usually heaps to be gained there especially on twin systems, and no doubt on the huge ugly POS exhaust they put on the 690. The slip-on can on my RSV was 9.5kg just by itself, and the akro I put in its place was about 2...

Hell yes! Even on my single pipe 640 the stocky weighs about 11kg and the staintune about 5kg. On a bike that weighs 149kg no fuel that's not a bad saving.
