It wont be a fast day, cos the berg wont be fully run in and I might be hung over.
This is not confirmed at the moment, as the berg has not been shipped yet. But I shall post more as the date gets closer.
This wont be a ride 400ks all over the shop, it will be at a dedicated set of corners, where I will be for many hours. Its a good way to learn the corners to build up confidance.
Basically, expressions of interest.

I should be OK but my sister will be out from the UK. It's also the last weekend of my 450 as the waranty runs out on the 15th.
Also you shouldn't hang out at the one spot for too long as you WILL have trouble with the Jacks!!
Sibbo

Its the way I rode with my road bikes and never had any problems with it.
Any now the motard can go up firetrails flat out 8) The Jacks will never catch me!

Things are changing rapidly it appears.
How many cops did we see last weekend?

Really?
Sat or Sunday and what time?
If you keep to the tighter bits, then you are under 100 (plus cops cant get you on the radar in corners, it is against the rules). I surpose the wheelies between the corners might be a bit....er.....bookable.

Sunday. Too many. Marked & Unmarked Bikes & Cars, Camera too. Between say 10:00am and 2pm.
What is this world coming too?
We all better watch Mad Max 2 a few more time's and get ready for when the fuel runs out. ;)

Running it in?
I'm not sure which way to go. Run it hard, with no long full throttle or high revs. Or, progressively increase the revs and throttle over a few hours.
Got some research to do.

mate cart track would be the best place by far to run it in , up and down the box , on and the throttle . 2-3 sessions and your good to go

I'm with Shane,
I ran my WRF in around the laneways on the farm because we had no GPTC...
I was happy after 45 minutes worth in 3 stints, varying the throttle opening...
Sibbo
30-08-2006, 09:56 AM
Yeah, thats what I am thinking.

Exactly what Shane & Muzz said.... Echo in here...
Especially with a Berg, they need good care and attention. ;)
Up and down through the box, vary the engine load.
I didn't find my rev limiter until last Sunday. :)

Mmmm,
I might have to think about a bigger bike to keep up with you blokes then 8) ...

30-08-2006, 10:31 PM
I can't remember that being a problem in the past mate :lol2:
Muzzard
30-08-2006, 11:08 PM
Yeah but now everyone seems to be on/getting bigger bikes it may be hard for the little bike on the more open sections to hold the road speed with you blokes.

30-08-2006, 11:37 PM
I was actually going to start a petition to have you sleived down to 200!

I have a LAMS restrictor here that might fit the top of the carby slide.
Give him 1/4 throttle.

I never had a dedicated motard, now I do.
So,
I should expect no excuses for social rides, you will be at every one now.
I expect you to be able to ride circles around me, go into terrain that is unpassable for anything without wings, set race tracks ablaze with your blistering road speed, impress the shit outta everyone with your sliding in and out of corners and I also expect you to bite me with enthusiasm...
Go for it you boy racer...

You could be my coach.

Not renowned for binnin' bikes usually Sibbo...
I like them bling and unscratched mate if you hadn't noticed.
In reckon the crash I had 2 years ago that broke my back was the last one. Prior to that I think, in 1995 I came off the 685 desert solo practicing near Wagga.
(Not counting the mini at GPTC when Dicky scared the bike with his camera) ...

Well the weather looks like it is goign to be wet and cold on Sunday.
As this was never a confirmed ride, I am now offically not confirmig it. ie, I'm being a woose. As wet roads and tryre release compound dont really work well together.
But I shall see you all at South Morang the following Saturday.
PUSSY !!
get some cotton wool or wet dry sand paper and scrub the tyres in by hand, wet roads are so fun on a tard
Wobbly
08-09-2006, 11:43 AM
I scrubbed in new gpr70's on a wet track at the island, twice.
However I did manage to fall off once while doing it :lol2:

Mold release?
Come on Brett...
How many kms has it done, by the sounds of the other threads it aint got no mold release left  .
How long before you are game to ride it and on a damp road then?
Sibbo
08-09-2006, 04:20 PM
After I have scrapped both pegs in the dry.
So one dry hills/track ride.
the truth comes out
Muzzard

Peg scraping?
In the dry?
Mate, I trust you have every intention of reaching your next birthday?
Let me be the first to burst your bubble, my bubble headed friend,
No peg scraping goes on when you are riding to work.
You will be scraped yourself, from under the first window lickers Commodore as they diverge across the path of the swiftly oncoming motorcycle they didnt see, Or as you all of a sudden realise grip levels vary from inch to inch on most of Melbournes roads, (including the Spurs) and you find yourself going up the down lane  .
Besides I cant wait to roost your sorry arse at GPTC in the dirt section next weekend  ...
