Weathers good enough to start a fairly regular regime of track days again and are wondering how many would be up for a run around GPTC this coming Saturday (2 Sep)
I will bring the broom again in case anyone would like to do the dirt section, although I'm just as happy without. ;)
Would like to see as many as possible out there to kick off this 'season',
remembering the cost is minimal at fuel and $25 per bike per day on a shared session basis.

Its Father Day the next day and what better present could your family give you?
Besides Tania's Dad's in Blackburn too. ;)

Leads me to the next thread...

I woulda thought you would be all belting the door down to get in...
Anyway, who is likely to attend?
Dicky already said he would most likely be a starter and BComp (Chris) and Danno might be over too in the afternoon.
Chris tells me its the day he collects the Bergermeister from Danno.
;)

There is power but no access to it I think,
None of us use warmers so better bring the genny.

Fortunately not the first Adventure to find its way around Sth Morang, so he wont be too unique ;) and welcome all the same.

Nah, she's all ok, bit stiff and sore now that the natural substances are abating, but generally ok. Did a nice stuntman roll over someone's bonnet after they decided a right turn was in order whilst I was overtaking, the usual indicator on at the last moment so as not giving enough reaction time etc.

Bike faired pretty good, busted headlight, few plastics and bent left rad, but everything else looks fine apart from the electrics not wanting to turn on again (but that could just be it being a husky :lol2: ). Will pick it up later with help from the Ash Bike Recovery Service  but will be in the car for a week or two at min I guess.

Oh well, such is life, at least I get a day of work!

You said something about video cameras??

Good to hear you are all good.

Why did you not just wheelie over the bonnet of the car?? Did the clutch cable break when you tried to clutch it up in 4th?? hehe

Yes, I will be in town for Sunday too...
If the weather holds off, we get some bikes to GPTC and some video shot, might need a technolord to load it up and edit it...
Home tomorrow night then Neil?

Justin?

Working tomorrow 9-5.
If you all finish early come see me in the arvo at work and I'll make you all a coffee. Just follow Neil, he knows the way. :)

Sorry to hear of the episode Neil, my TTR6 tard was a victim of lane splitting on the RHS of the moving cars at a reasonable pace and one of those drivers who indicates and turns all in one movement, just before I was scheduled to pass him, not superman his bonnet.
Ambulance.
Flash green stick full of drugs to suck on.
I stuffed my ankle (again) and the shitheads wouldnt let me move for 6 hours and locked me in a velcro neck brace.
I was lying on the table at the alfred and after what seemed like eternity, I ripped the brace off, jumped on my crutches and limped the phuq out the door and went to my doc.

Fed up with the long drives, (note the post time as I just got home)
having to pick up after the fucking pigs who were there last, and of course, riding by myself. :?
Go your hardest boys.
I'm getting another bike...

It also appears through lack of attendances that we are now duck shoved by hire karts.
How many times do I have to tell you blokes,
IF YOU DONT ATTEND THE TRACK DAYS WE HAVE NO TRACK!

Noooooo! Dont give it up Muzz, people just dont realise how much fun these bikes are on a track day, especially when you have a crowd riding.

Give me a little while to get my 300 fixed, sold and I'll have a new 640 to play with, that track looks great fun, I cant wait to get on it!

I'll deffo help promote the sport, just need a bit of time, I must say, I was totaly amazed that no other riders took up you offer to ride, its such a fast growing sport throughout the rest of the world, keep perservering mate! perhaps they are all intimidated by your superior riding skills?

Was good to meet you yesterday! dont give up!

My bank book says how often I can come down for track days Murray, and yes it was good to meet you, finally ;) , but I find it harder to justify the expense for the lonely laps mate and I know you understand what I mean.

What I want to know is wheres all the 'racers' from around Melbourne getting the practice between rounds of the racing series when GPTC is the only motard track in Melbourne and also has the opportunity to train with a dirt section?
Maybe because they are 'racers', they think we might get in their way?

Writings on the wall as far as I see it when we get booted for a kids party and a kart being driven around by a bloke who should be picking up rubbish... :?

Muzza, I fully appreciate your frustration, I would be well pissed if I was you, it makes you wonder why you bother I suppose.

Just a suggestion, but would it maybe help to get a sticky up in general on Track days? It might just be that its not being picked-up by the peeps who scan general from time-to time?

I'm not sure why there is limited interest, perhaps its that there are more commuters than die-hard speed junkies, they may be more in bike-preservation mode?? fcuk knows, but please dont get the arse-in, it will take some doing to get interest off the ground, there are so many other forms of biking in Oz that are fun, the exposure to Motard seems very limited here, but I can assure you, when I arrived in the UK it was the same, the Visordown forum was the only place to get the lowdown, now they are trying to keep the numbers down, they have so much interest that the track-days have to have a limit on entrants.

So, I'm with you on this, just sorry I dont have the bike to prove it yet.

Keep the faith Mate!

You have to also realise that under normal circumstances not having to work (which I didn't) I would have been there, and also Neil's little adventure took him out and of course. Then there was Dicky (but he reconed he was tired  )So the usual villans would have been there. Strange that we were all unable to make in it at once.

Sorry Muzza about the tarmac track day post.
I'm just keen to keep my license in my wallet as I need it for my job.
And with todays draconian laws and 'take your bike' for the weekend impound rules that the Cops have just brought in it this is all a nightmare.
I'm not sure if I can do it on the road now that he SMC is getting a tickle.
I'm not trying to cut out the motard days, just get some road track in as well.
That's where I shine. :P

Sorry for the lack of attendeed's yesterday, work called & The first time I went to Lemon Meringue I had GPR70 Rideens on I dropped the TTR 5 times in the pouring rain. The slides on the dirt to ashphalt transitions were wild though, I loved the slides.

Lets's keep it up.

Juz.

Don't get disenchanted man, we just have some work to do.

I.E Neil & I am fom the 'knee down' road style of life by the looks. :D
No offence to you other girly riders. (Except Ash of course) lol

I'm not having a go at anyone in particular and dont intend to single out anyone either.
What I am saying is
If there are not significant increases in bike numbers at the track, we will lose the benefit that we now enjoy through purely financial reasons.
Bet your bottom dollar, our track fees will rise as a result, should we want to use the facility again, if ever.

Come on surely there are some of you surfing here as remnants of the SRCA?
You paid a lot more then for track access and only got 3 hours once a month on a friggin Tuesday.
Those guilty of that offence, please stand up  ...

Guilty.

I think I'm member #7.
I'll find the card.
It was wet that day/evening at the 1st SM club event at South Morang. and I think I dropped the TTR 6 or 7 times in the mud with the GPR70's on. I had to ride it home too, no car/trailer here.
First time I have ever slid a bike properly on the dirt 2 tarmac transition, feels sweet as!!

The only place I dropped it was in the dirt (more like slick mud) hence my current addiction to tarmac.

Good on ya Justin.
At least your honest, now tell me would you go again with only $25 outta ya pocket and more time?

I thought so, so wheres the other 112 members ex SRCA that obviously paid for something at sometime, and I suggest it may have been the compulsory membership to ride deal.
No wonder the racing also collapsed.

Nothings changed much then except for the fact that the track is still open to us, for a reduced amount, for longer and more frequently...
But for how long? :?

Club Racing?
I would have come home with all classes yesterday then, right ;)
If folks cant see the importance of getting to the opening of the track day season, not much hope of any events......
